Everyone is still asking in this after-math how something so horrible could have happened. It is all so cataclysmic. The government and people of the world want us put away, locked up, exiled, murdered, gone. We wonder how they can be so cruel: the Great War, Holocaust, Cambodia, Rwanda, Palestine and Israel…does history mean nothing to them? This is genocide. They know this in whatever is left of their hearts but they’re too afraid to admit it. Fear has won this battle. There is no one to help us, and even if someone wanted to, they couldn’t. There are rules. We have to find our own way. Technological advancements has made survival 10x more difficult. There are streets we dare not go, buildings we dare not enter. We aren't welcome. With Xavier's Institute for Gifted Children completely destroyed, we have nowhere to go -we don't know where to find each other. We want to survive. We want to make everything alright. But the blood-spattered alleyways, terrifying shadows, despairing enemies and dominating view society supports stands in our way of accomplishing anything.


Shattered Verity is a roleplaying game based on the X-Men: Evolution TV series and the book "Shade's Children" by Garth Nix. It is set in the future in New York City, the existence of mutants has been outlawed. Mutants are used as experiments in the lab centers or turned into drones at the drone factory. Their only hope for survival is to keep hidden in the city's lower drains and to band together.
