…Life Through the Eyes of a Pirate…

…You’re walking along a sidewalk, minding your own business and being very content with it. Suddenly a man comes up and stops you. This man is old. You can see it in his eyes…and of course on his face...Anyways, His hair is long, gray and worn. Atop his greasy hair is a bandana that looks as if it is about to tear in the breeze. His skin is tanned and his arms scarred. He looks you in the eye with his pale blue eye…

“Why ‘ello my good friend!”

…He’s scary looking indeed. You stare at him a moment before attempted to pass him and go on, but his stops you with a single bony hand on your arm…

“Listen to me for a minu’e, won’tchu, matey? Have you ever heard of Port Royale? Aye, it is a reasonably large town on a nice island full of trees. It is always warm here, yes, for this island is in the Caribbean.”

…He examines you a moment while you stand there stiff like a floorboard…

“Or perhaps your blood doesn’t run along with the Port Royale people? Do you prefer Tortuga? Aye, that is where I live! Wonderful place it is! Full of pirates and beautiful women. Well, the people from Port Royale would call them whores, but they are very nice! You can make plenty of nice friends in the tavern! That’s where everyone hangs out!”

…With his last few words his arms fling a little in his excitement…

“Be at the docks by nightfall. Come with me and my friends to Tortuga. What’s that you say? You want to go to Port Royale!? Very well, very well. You can get there on the earlier boat…”

…With that he quickly turns and scrambles away…
