Subject: ALERT!! Florida Duck Hunters need HELP TODAY!!!

Polk County Commission Considers Ending Waterfowl Hunting

The proposed management plan eliminates regular waterfowl hunting opportunities and calls for only a limited “youth waterfowl hunting experience” with no description of what such an event would entail.

The measure is scheduled to be heard and voted upon by the Polk County Commissioners at their meeting this Wednesday, June 17 at 9 a.m. in the boardroom of the Neil Combee Administration Building, 330 West Church Street in Bartow, Florida.

“Sportsmen must take advantage of this opportunity to make their voices heard,” said Evan Heusinkveld, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance’s associate director of state services. “A good presence by sportsmen will help ensure continued hunting opportunities on the Reserve.”

Take Action! Florida sportsmen, especially Polk County residents, are encouraged to attend the commission meeting. Ask the commissioners to oppose the draft management plan for the Circle B Bar Reserve unless the hunting opportunities for all sportsmen are restored.

Those who are unable to attend the hearing should contact the county commissioners to express opposition to the new management plan. The County Commissioners can be reached by phone at (863) 534-6000 or by e-mail at the following:
