Subject: Orlando Quota Hunt Workshop

Mark and I attended the workshop at Bass Pro this las Thursday night. There were probably 35 hunters or so that came to the workshop. Virtually everyone there was opposed to non-transferrable permits. About half were "gamers". Friends of Bull Creek was present, Mike Powell and his son from the Paisley Woods Dog Hunt club was there.

I am still flabbergasted when the people playing the system act like they are dumping so much money into the system that the FWC should appreciate them. Or they relate it to the Florida Lottery saying you don't have a limit on the number of lotter tickets people can buy, so why do that with quota permits. One guy thought everyone should be stunned that he spent $1000 dollars on management stamps and only received 3 quota permits for the money he spent.

Personally if I had $1000 dollars to plunk down it would have been for a lease membership somewhere so I could have hunted everyday of the season...including the new crossbow season, all of muzzle loader and been able to shoot does during doe week. It certainly would have been a better use of his money.

At any rate the FWC got a few suggestions to go over and found that nobody really wants nontransferable.

Jim
