Subject: Re: More Antler restriction area proposed
In reply to: Jim 's message, "Re: More Antler restriction area proposed" on 06/ 6/07 5:06:38pm

I don't think anyone disagrees we need to make some changes, what I personally disagree with is not having Data to make the Right change, also, FWC want's this to happen ASAP, something I'm not for is a RUSH game! As Jim stated, back in 03 we were assured we would have some data to work from in a few years, either it's to early or their data doesn't add up like they would like it to! I was at a Wildlife initive forum this week and it was said by a bioligist that 3-5 years was needed to weigh in on any changes, mostly because Mother nature is a big part of how it will work!

Let's get some REAL Data, make the right choice for the Hunters and the Herd, If we do it right, the first time that is, we'll all have meat in our freezer and Our children will have good hunting in their time!

We will be far better off if we do it right, then if we start adding rules and find out that nothing has changed in the next three years with out any Data from which to work from, then what, do we step back and punt again!

We have a good group at the FWC, we just need to Slow them down and get everyone on the same page, Politics can't be the solution nor should it be the reason!

Mark

>>"FWC WITHDRAWS DEER MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL

>>CONTACT: Henry Cabbage (850) 488-4676
>>The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
>>(FWC) Wednesday withdrew a proposal to change the way

>>The proposal to manage deer to produce larger antlers
