Well... obviously he wasn't a child and he had none of his own waiting back home to take this pony into their hearts. Easier to provide was a good meal and a warm stable. And a little bit of TLC, well, he could easily spare some of that too for the little lost beauty. And given time and attention, once the mare was back in good health perhaps a child could be found to give her a job again. But that moment was far from this one and simply getting the mare in from out of the cold was the task at hand. Glancing to his parked truck and trailer, the vehicle was not far at all but he opted to leave the pony alone a moment more to pull the rig up just outside the gate of her corral, getting out and moving back to his find once more. Approaching slowly again, not for fear of an attack from this little creature, certainly, but to give her time to adjust to his presence if she even cared at all, he offered her a hand to investigate had she the energy or will to do so before carefully untying the rope. "Think you can make it to the trailer, little one? We'll get you set up nice and warm once we're home..."
