Nat walked into the office and closed the door, looking at Michael as he turned away from the computer. “You look tired. Must have been a good honeymoon.”

Michael rubbed his head and shook his head. “It’s Wednesday… and the kids kind of took a lot of attention from the moment we got home.”

Nat leaned his head back. “Adam is in a foul mood?”

“And Sabina is having nightmares for no reason,” Michael added as he pushed away from the desk and stood up. “Nikita is behind at work and now the school wants Reagan to support another child next year… it all hit at once.”

Nat whistled and then tilted his head to the side. “I guess maybe you would like me to go.”

“If you want to talk about what is going on between Adam and Lisa… I have to say that I have nothing to say,” Michael rolled his shoulders back as he walked around to in front of his desk to lean back against it. “I promised Adam that I wouldn’t prod him about what is going on… and that means not asking Davenport to tell me why they are training.”

“He is a teenager… and I think he is frustrated with Lisa. Not that Lisa is talking to me or Rhoda about what is going on. I know that she hasn’t been herself,” Nat admitted as he moved and settled in the stool that was by the countertop.

“Well Sabina thought that Nikita and I brought home a brother or sister for her,” Michael retorted as he shook his head. “Of course, Nikita had just started… well, she couldn’t have been pregnant.”

“Have you two ironed out that whole situation? I thought that Nikita didn’t want to have another baby,” Nat stated and Michael rolled his head to the side. “It counts on the day, Nat. And that scares the crap out of me.”

Nat didn’t know what to say. It was clear that Michael had thought a lot about this. “Sabina compounds the issue.”

“Nikita hates disappointing her,” Michael rasped as he shook his head and grew silent. Then he looked at Nat. “But that’s not why you are here. Why are you here?”

Nat pulled out a USB stick and tossed it to Michael. “I need your expertise. I knew that this was the one day that you were in the lab…”

“You could have contacted Jason,” Michael commented as he held the USB stick in his hand and spun it in his fingers.

“I couldn’t bring over the physical evidence unless I talked to you… and some of the things… we don’t know what they are,” Nat explained as he leaned forward. “It started out with what we thought was a drug ring… but it’s a lot more.”

“Murder?” Michael inquired and Nat nodded his head. “We think… but there is more… maybe human trafficking… but there are things we have become in possession of… and we don’t know what they are and what they do… and if there is information on them… to lead us to something more.”

“That sounds like it is going to take a lot more than me being in the lab one or two days a week, Nat,” Michael warned and Nat nodded his head. “And maybe even more than you.”

Michael swallowed hard. He knew that there was a chance that this could be something that he had seen in Section. If he was lucky, they would be things that he would know what to do with them instantly and they were a little bit more wide spread than being used just in Section. But this had Nat scared. “So if the Angel…”

“It’s not an if, Michael,” Nat pushed his hands together. “Review the materials, Michael. Talk it over with your wife. And if you want to get involved… I can get the evidence over.”

Michael chilled as he looked at the USB key and studied Nat. “You must know that I won’t be able to say no.”

“You’ll be concerned with what you see… I think,” Nat nodded his head up and down. “And there is a chance that you’ll tell me that I’ve been spending too much time with Walter, hearing about his toys.”

Michael reached over his tablet and didn’t wait. He needed to see the contents and he exhaled. “Ok… the good news… this wasn’t Section technology… it was known to us… bad news… it shouldn’t be in regular hands.”

“You were out longer,” Nat commented and Michael tilted his head to the side. “And that is why you wanted me to talk to my wife.”

“And she knows the Angel,” Nat shrugged his shoulders slightly. Michael rubbed his head and pulled the drive. “No… I’ll run this to Tom… not Nikita. We just got back and she is catching up with the photography… and if I work on this… she needs to stay on other Angel things.”

“You need to tell her!” Nat exclaimed. Michael shoved the USB key into his pocket and raised an eyebrow. “Did I say that I wasn’t going to tell her? I’m going to tell her but she doesn’t need to be involved… I’m going to have to shuffle things around… get Davenport’s guys to patrol around here a bit more… just in case.”

Nat tilted his head to the side. “I can have you transport here if you have a way to do it under the radar more.”

“Chain of custody,” Michael shook his head back and forth. “This needs to stay above board. We’ll find out how this got out to the public… and find out how widespread… but you can’t do this under wraps, Nat.”

Nat jerked his head and exhaled. “Yeah… I know.”

“This might not be bad,” Michael stated and Nat raised an eyebrow. “You are sugar coating, huh?”

“I don’t know,” Michael shook his head with a slight shrug of his shoulders. “Honestly, Nat…. this might be nothing.”

“Or it could change everything,” Nat whispered as he looked at Michael and felt so incredibly guilty for doing this, but he had waited long enough. For over nine days he had held off and now he had to do something.
