Michael held onto Nikita’s waist as they travelled down the stone path in a very tropical forest setting. Nikita looked at Michael and he kissed her bare shoulder. “Something unique.”

They turned the corner to find the small table under a thatched roof to a private cabana like structure – all indoors. The restaurant only featured tables like these and was kept dark. The lights that were around featured candle light in the trees and around the table. Michael stepped forward to do the job of the maître, and waited to push Nikita’s chair in once she had sat down.

“We will be up shortly with your wine selection,” the man spoke with a small bow of his head, leaving the couple alone. Nikita looked at Michael over the multiple candles that danced in her eyes. “They didn’t leave a menu.”

“I ordered ahead,” Michael reached over and took Nikita’s hand into his hand. Nikita raised an eyebrow with a smile twinkling across her face. “So… you weren’t planning... on…”

“A couple got banned from this restaurant last week for doing something like that,” Michael chided Nikita with a shake of his head as he allowed a smile to playfully show itself on his face. Nikita blushed and Michael leaned forward. He captured her lips tenderly and then pulled away. “Although… it was been on my mind since I saw you in this dress.”

“You didn’t need to buy me a new dress.”

“I had too,” Michael declared and Nikita licked her lips slightly. She pulled away from the table but continued to hold Michael’s fingers barely as the sommelier arrived with the bottle in his hand. He smiled at the couple. “I have the pleasure to present to you the Clinet 1989 Pomerol.”

The wine started to be poured as the sommelier paused so they could watch the wine. “It offers that pure scents of flowers, black-raspberries, currants, vanillin, and truffles you can get before even sipping. You will feel that full-bodied, with a seamless texture, fabulous concentration, a massive degree of richness as you enjoy.”

“Thank you,” Michael replied as he lifted his glass and took a small sip. Nikita picked up her glass as the sommelier silently slipped away. She clinked her glass against Michael’s and took a sip. She closed her eyes and placed the glass down. “You didn’t need to do this, Michael. This wine is to… expensive…”

“Kita… you deserve all of this… and we deserve to celebrate,” Michael replied as he reached out with his hand and cupped her cheek. Nikita turned her head slightly to press a kiss against Michael’s hand. It felt so good to be here with him right now.

The couple didn’t speak much as they enjoyed their small touches and looking at each other while sipping slowly at the wine. The atmosphere truly made them feel like they were on an abandoned little island being served whenever it was the perfect moment.

“As you requested for this evening,” the waiter spoke as he arrived with the meal that Michael had selected for them. “This is the special ordered spiny lobster tail, black mussels, diver scallop & Alaskan king crab leg with the spicy tomato sauce and perciatelli pasta, with two forks.”

Nikita chuckled as she was given the fork and the one large plate was placed in the middle of the table. Michael nodded his head and they were again alone. “Special ordered?”

“I had a specific vision for this evening,” Michael replied as he nodded his head up and down. He looked at the food and then Nikita. “Do you like this?”

Nikita took some of the king crab leg onto her fork and slowly placed it in her mouth. Michael felt his blood start to boil with the long exaggerated motions that Nikita was taking in eating that first bite. She knew what she was doing as she closed her eyes slightly and leaned her head back, but he also knew that she was enjoying what she was eating. Michael waited and winked as he took some food to do the same to Nikita.

Turn-about was fair play tonight.

Nikita waited as she watched Michael. She kicked her shoe off and allowed her toes to touch Michael’s calf, making him open his eyes quickly. He swallowed and smiled at Nikita. “Oh… you are playing dirty.”

“I think… we need to eat all of our meal tonight. We are going to need it, right?”

“Oh yeah… that’s why it’s pasta… you’ll need the carbs,” Michael replied with a huge smile on his face.

For the next forty minutes, they slowly moved thru their meal, teasing and taunting each other with ease and happiness. While the dishes were being taken away, Michael cupped Nikita’s cheek. “This has been nice.”

“Yeah,” Nikita nodded her head up and down as she was almost embarrassed by the fact that she hadn’t thought about Adam and Sabina at all. But then she learned a lesson. Michael was right. “We need our time alone.”

“We haven’t truly gotten a lot of it,” Michael whispered and Nikita blinked her eyes as she fought tears slightly. Michael shifted and leaned forward. “I have something … for you… before dessert.”

“I don’t need anything,” Nikita shook her head slightly. Michael just stared at her and blinked his green eyes. “Michael…”

“You need lots of things that you think you don’t need… and I’m going to show you all of them by slowly getting you to allow me to show you them,” Michael explained as he shifted. He pulled out a box and placed it on the table.

“Michael…”

“Open it,” Michael directed Nikita as he leaned back in his chair. He smiled as he watched Nikita carefully pick it up in her hands. She swallowed as she held the box that was obviously a jewelry box, but one that she could tell was not a ring box. Lifting the lid, Nikita pressed her lips together and then looked at Michael. “It’s… beautiful…”

“It has birthstones that represent both Adam and Sabina…” Michael pointed out as he stood up and walked to Nikita’s side. He slipped the necklace out and wrapped it around Nikita’s neck. He stood beside her as she picked it up in her hand and looked down at it. She was misting up and Michael paused.

Then he moved down in front of her, one knee on the ground, traditional as one could get. He held the box that would have had Nikita jumping to her feet in fright if he had placed it on the table just moments ago. But now, she was stunned and looking at Michael. “I know… that you tried to marry us… without a ring… and without an engagement… or a wedding… and while I know that my heart is only for you and will always be only for you… I want to have all of those things… an engagement… a wedding… a honeymoon… and I want you to have it all too… especially a ring…”

Michael opened the box to the ring and looked up at Nikita. He pulled the ring out and took her hand from her chest. He slipped the ring onto the finger without a protest from Nikita. “I wish I could have found my mother’s ring… but I had this custom made… because I know that she would agree that you are the perfect woman for me… that you make me so happy… that you make our children happy… and that you absolutely completely me in ways that I didn’t realize that I needed to be completed.”

Nikita started to cry now fully and Michael lifted his hand whisk the tears away. “I know that you are scared of all of this… scared of what this meant to you in the past… but you know that this is me asking you… with nothing but what I truly feel for you… so, Nikita Wirth… I ask you, as Michael Samuelle… will you marry me?”

Nikita started to nod her head up and down and Michael tilted his head to the side. “I can’t hear you, Kita…”

“Yes,” Nikita declared firmly as she nodded her head up and down even more. Michael got to his feet to find Nikita standing with her arms around his neck. She hungrily kissed Michael and he grinned into the kiss.

They eased deeper into the kiss for a long time. Michael felt Nikita’s body pressed against his as he was so happy in these moments, knowing that Nikita felt the same. He barely heard the voice behind them, clearing their voice several times. Michael pulled away to find the waiter there. “I wanted to see if the dessert should be put on…”

Nikita looked at Michael as she pressed against him. Her blue eyes were smoldering and he wasn’t hungry for dessert.

Neither was Nikita.

“No thank you,” Michael shook his head as he pressed a kiss to Nikita’s cheek. “That is all for this evening.”

“Then here is the key you asked to be delivered,” the waiter stepped forward with the plastic card. “The elevator is available if you take the path to the left… you won’t miss it.”

Nikita looked at Michael and he nodded his head to the waiter to get more privacy. Michael turned to Nikita and kissed her but he could feel her questioning what was going on. “It’s a little known secret about the private hotel about this place… only a few select rooms are available… we have one for tonight… because…”

“You’re my dessert?” Nikita inquired and Michael laughed heartily for a moment. “I was thinking that you were my dessert.”

“Oh… we’ll have to see who might be the most creamy and delicious…” Nikita replied and then licked her lips slightly. Michael groaned as he wrapped his hand around her waist. “We have to start walking… now…”
