Rhoda held onto Nat’s hand as they approached his small house. She rocked back on her feet and then looked down the street. “I didn’t expect to be eating here, Nat.”

“I wanted to be alone,” Nat whispered as he looked at the door and then back to Rhoda. “Just the two of us.”

Rhoda cleared her throat and she rubbed her neck with her free hand. “Nat… this might be too soon.”

“For dinner? It’s after eight and I’ve had a long day,” Nat explained and Rhoda nervously chuckled as she knew that Nat had purposely stayed away from what she was thinking about. It was Nat who dropped her clenched hand and turned to face her. “We are going to have dinner and maybe watch a movie. That’s all, Rhoda.”

Rhonda blushed and rubbed her hands against her cheeks. “I’m sorry, Nat. You know, Ze-Ze has been just trying to give me advice that is so outrageous and she just doesn’t understand how difficult it was for me…”

“Part of you is still the Reverend Mother,” Nat whispered gently. “I know that we are going to be going slow. We need to learn who we both are right now. We used to know each other…”

“From when I was a nurse and before I went… a little bit extreme,” Rhoda nodded her head up and down. Nat smiled. “It was a bit extreme… I didn’t make it easy, did I?”

Rhonda rubbed her elbows now and looked at the door. “What’s for dinner?”

“I have a drawer full of delivery places,” Nat admitted and Rhonda laughed. “I guess that is better than microwave pizza.”

“We can still have that,” Nat commented as he opened the door and pushed it open. He waited for Rhonda to walk in and then he entered and closed the door. “Although I would suggest Pizza Phat if you want pizza. They have some really good gourmet pizzas that they even deliver.”

Rhonda pulled off her light jacket as Nat took his gun and locked it up into the gun safe. He then motioned Rhonda to follow him into the kitchen. He opened up the drawer and shrugged his shoulders. “I wasn’t joking.”

“And Pizza Phat is on the top,” Rhonda commented as she lifted the menu out of the drawer. “Do you order there often?”

“A bit,” Nat nodded his head. “But I’ve tried all of their pizzas that I can. Every month there is a new menu so they are always tossing it up…”

“Tossing it up?” Rhonda inquired and Nat grinned as he flipped over the menu. “New this month is the Shrimp Scampi Pizza, the Reuben Pizza, and the Creole Pizza with Fried Okra.”

“Fried Okra?” Rhonda frowned as she shook her head. “That one doesn’t interest me.”

“Their Drunken Smashed Potato Pizza is really good,” Nat pointed to the description. Rhonda looked at it and then smiled. “I trust you.”

“Ok,” Nat nodded his head as he picked up the phone and ordered the pizza. He hung up and hung an arm around Rhonda to lead her towards the living room. “It will be about forty minutes.”

Rhonda sat down and Nat kept some distance as he sighed in relief. Rhonda rubbed her hands together and looked at Nat. “Hard day at work?”

“Yeah,” Nat admitted as he jerked his head up and down. “You and I both know what happened to the Angel. But there were a lot of things that were never released to the press that she helped us with… so it’s been hard try to keep up with things again.”

“Have you ever gotten over the anger about what had happened?” Rhonda inquired as she kicked her shoes off and pulled her feet up onto the coach. Nat sighed as he leaned back into the couch. He wasn’t sure how to answer and he actually took a moment to flick the television on in an attempt to figure out an answer. “Nat, I know that it all seems surreal…”

“I don’t think I’m upset about that any longer,” Nat shook his head slightly from side to side. “I guess I’m confused about how one could be in that life and completely leave it.”

“They haven’t completely left it. Especially not Nikita,” Rhonda shook her head slightly as she leaned against the arm and looked at Nat. “But she gave me a gift… she made me somehow realize how wrong I was about life.”

Nat rasped and leaned forward. “I’ll never be able to thank her enough for that.”

“We are just starting to date,” Rhonda commented as the seriousness in Nat’s voice was so thick. He nodded his head. “I know… but I also know that you are the right one for me.”

Rhoda jerked as she wasn’t sure what to do about that statement. She nervously pushed her feet to the ground and reached for the television remote. “Ah… let’s see what movies are on…”

“Rhonda…” Nat spoke as he reached over and took her hand into his. “I’m never going to rush you.”

“I know,” Rhonda nodded her head up and down but she wasn’t absolutely sure. “And I’m not going to push you to deal with what you feel about Michael Pomeroy and Nikita…”

“I hope that if I ever truly need them for something, they’ll help,” Nat admitted as he allowed Rhonda to start changing the channels. She stopped and chuckled. “Ok… The Sound of Music. Now that is ironic!”
