First off..

A bold move on your part, serving a winter soup in sunny Florida.

Well Flexy, I concur with souphead on the challenge that faces you with a potato soup. I would have to say of all the soups out there..The potato soup is the 800 pound gorilla of soups.

It's only rival being the dreaded "French Onion soup"

Potato soup hates...HATES French Onion soup!!!..This is an old feud that goes back to the Napoleonic era..

I bet you are asking yourself right now the age old question..

which soup would in that fight?

The answer is none..

Because when food fights, kittens cry.

and I will slap any man whom suggests we try kitten soup..

But I digress..

While souphead suggests that you should not match a starch with a starch..

I must disagree...

But souphead is a timid sort, a bit of a follower and a meek sort of fellow..

If I was serving a potato soup I would serve it with some nice toasted sourdough bread. I would also add a side of summer sausage or perhaps a farmers sausage.

maybe a wee bit of cheese as well..
