Subject: Getting Philosophical...

Wow. We've had some pretty deep hossin' threads as of late:
-what are the rules for paying for business lunches?
-what shows the sign of a true hosser, stains or no stains?

I have another one to pose:

Someone I know is intentionally avoiding a company lunch today because of the coworkers, not the menu. Let me emphasize that this person is choosing to pay for their own lunch away from work instead of partaking in a FREE lunch (and this is not a potluck, but a catered meal). This is not the first time it has happened. This person has even turned down a meal from Longhorn Smokehouse, one of our BEST local barbeque joints.
My Question -- Can a true hosser turn down a free meal? Under what circumstances is it ok (if any)?
