Formosa, when I used the term "frustrated", I meant that more "tongue in cheek". I don't believe I used the word "anger".
Perhaps we are dealing with semantics here.
The generation of dynamic power is most definitely a part of Taijiquan and varying degrees of muscular strength accompany diligent practice. I'm sure we all agree on that.
All I am saying is that the internal arts tend to be unique in the fact that they DO NOT require a high degree of physical conditioning to be effective for self defense. They DO however, require many years of DAILY practice to attain the touch and sensitivity required for real street application.
There is a HUGE difference between correctly done pushing hands and being able to defeat an attacker on the street and decide in the heat of the moment whether you will merely neutralize his attack, break a few bones or actually kill him.
An excellent example of this is the true story of an encounter the late Master TT Liang had while using a public restroom in Grand Central Station in NYC. While in the restroom, Master was accosted by several young men who were after whatever they could get from a frail old man.
Master basically bounced them off the walls and then chastised himself for being so rough and careless!
Keep in mind at the time, he was around 82 years old and maybe 5'6"! He was also arthritic.
This true story was recounted by Stewart Alve Olsen, Master Liang's longtime disciple, who was accompanying him at the time
