I understand several celebrities, example: Howie Mandell, do not like people touching them...so perhaps Brad just does not feel comfortable with strangers - even though they are fans - hugging him....As for the girlfriend comment - maybe its an excuse... one that people will accept and not take personally - therefore he would hurt anyone's feelings...

As for the marriage/not marriage etc - does it really matter? He is with Shawna and is happy...and that is all we should care about....
