You better check with the venue - it usually varies from place to place. Off hand, if it's in a theater, I'd say they'll probably tell you no. They announced a Caesar's that there was supposed to be no flash photography so there were people taking pictures without flash (we just didn't bother and sat back and enjoyed intead). Some people just didn't care and used the flash. I didn't see anyone getting "spoken" to.

They made the same announcement at the MGM Grand so I tried to take pictures without flash. Let's just say that the security guy who came over is probably the cause for any gray hairs I may have.

Other venues we've been to, colleges in particular, could have cared less what we did.

I'd definitely check with the venue and see if it's ok. If they say "no" and you still want to try, just don't get caught.
