Hi Autumn,

I'm sure we can work something out. But you are right - it will be tight. They would need to enter almost immediately after your state pageant. As time goes by, we all will get things coordinated a bit better. I probably should move the deadline back a bit for state pageants.....the
best thing would be have the state pageants in the summer or fall....It all depends on when the director comes on board.

Anyway....tell them they won't be shut out but it will be tight. Since you have a crown that could be used for photos, you are right, they could borrow it and that could work.....Lori

Based on this issue, how do you guys in general feel about the 2005 pageant (or any pageant you enter for that matter) being held in the fall of 2004 instead of hosting a pageant in the spring? It would cause a short year for our queens but on the other hand, could help prepare the next set with more time. Any feelings on this?

and it's looking like I will be moving the 2005 to March of 2005. Still close to the national deadline true, but there is absolutely no way this early into producing a state pageant for the first time that I can turn around and upfront all the expenses just three or four months later. Plus, it's harder on the contestants who wish to return and recompete to come up with the entry fee in just a third the time they had before, not to mention not feeling like you got your money's worth on the local title time! So, difficult as it is, we are most likely looking at early March being the target, allowing time for the state gals to make some appearances, get nice photos done etc and still not be *too* close to the holiday dieting season! :)

Perhaps the VA Galaxy Program could initiate an "Elite"(or other suitable name) program similar to the Miss Teen America Program, in which the outgoing queens are awarded with a new title and continue to represent the program. This way, the outgoing queens (who may only reign a few months if the '05 progrm is in the fall)would get the full benefit of having participated in such a wonderful program!

Hi gals.....back from vacation! :)

I have pretty much decided to do the 2005 pageant the 1st or 2nd week of March 2005. Doing one in the fall right after I have all the time, expense, effort, etc of going with my 1st set of queens to nationals is not going to allow me to develop an even bigger 2nd year. I would like for the program to grow each year, just as the national has. So while that is an *excellent* idea, it looks as though our 1st set of queens will have a terrific and fulfilling year (or about 11 month) reign to enjoy.
