"Well, ah," he shifts around uncertainly. An old proverb from his mother floats through his mind. Don't canter in slowly or you'll slip and fall. Gallop in steadily. He can't help but look down. "Gee, this is hard. Akki," he forces himself to look up at her, into her eyes. He loves those eyes. "Akki, I only came back because I thought you were going to be here, waiting for me. When I didn't find you, I waited for you, not wanting to wait for anyone else but you. What I'm trying to say is, I don't think that this is a crush anymore." He gulps, his mouth dry. "I think I'm in love with you."
