matt stood and smiled gently at some of her inquiries. "ya' know what? you're right." he paused, shrugging lightly. "i have no idea how to skate. ya' got me." matt said matter-of-factly, holding his hands in the air as if a cop had interrogated him. matt chuckled briefly and put his hands back into his pockets.
matts' reasoning about the 'someone like her' was that she was an attracting female. yet, he still believed she was younger and wasnt quite sure if it was even legal to say that to her. so he maneuvored to plan B. "i was implying that you seem like a nice individual and i wouldnt know why you would be alone on this holiday of all." he stated graciously, allowing his head to bobb slightly at his words.
he noticed she was drifting backwards, and honestly, he had no idea how she was doing it. but hey, suit yourself. matt grinned as he noticed he was probably eating his words. "which probably leads me to wonder why im here on the holiday alone too." he said with a grin, casting his gaze down to the ground then back toward her. he shrugged again and smiled weakly. "i guess...crap happens." matt said surely, nodding his head.
