Solid gold sunshine and a silver moon
She ain't too familiar with a plastic spoon
And the people sing
Welcome to the world

Two more weeks, and classes would be over, and then another week and a half and exams would be over, and then she was on her way home, thank goodness. She was badly in need of some good family time and was definitely looking forward to being surrounded by people around the clock. It wasn't in her personality to be so isolated from everything, but the more time she spent here, the more convinced she was becoming that it wasn't just that she wasn't getting out and meeting people, it was more that everyone here seemed to have their own lives and their own routines, and no one was looking for any changes. She didn't fit in anywhere. For someone who had always been so optimistic - despite all the tragedies she had already experienced in her short life - it was definitely a change to be feeling so negative about all that she had going on. Yet again, the thought crossed her mind that maybe she would be better off just transferring to a school back on the Island, but she wasn't a quitter and outwardly cringed at the thought of giving up after only a couple months. Lips gently pursed and a furrow to her brows that didn't suit her delicate features, she strolled slowly up the path to the lodge and then made her way in - a quiet sigh of relief escaping her at the instant warmth that hit. Just a thin black long-sleeved tee fit to her torso - tiny hot pink stars spread out randomly - and faded jeans to her hips, she was a little chilly outside but perfectly content inside. It wasn't quite as cold that night anyway, thanks to the cloud cover that had rolled in and the fact that the rain that was threatening to fall had yet to start...
