Several people have told me that Madison played their best game of the season that night. It is quite a compliment when a team of Madison's caliber gets fired up to play Cairo.

Cairo played Lovejoy the night before the Madison game at Brooklyn. I was at that game and had spent the night in Highland. I also saw several Madison players and fans at that game; I sat next to a gentleman that was a Madison fan. Lovejoy played a heck of a game that night, too. Brandon Childs missed the bus to Brooklyn and did not play in that game, he did play in the Madison game (scored 19).

The team rode a school bus to Brooklyn for a game on Friday night, returned to Cairo then took a bus to Pinckneyville on Saturday afternoon.

He needs to grow past it, but Brandon has had a tough life. He lost both parents at a much too young age. His Mom was severely injured in a car accident and spent some years in a nursing home before she finally passed on. Since then he has lived with different Aunts and Uncles, all of them great people.
