"I'm not letting her go anywhere, Liza." He assured her, but there was a quiet, defeated edge to his voice - she was right about them both being too stubborn. Neither of them wanted to admit that they had let things get so messed up. The furrow in his brow deepened as he watched his daughter - he hated seeing her so sad, and hearing about her conversations with her brother. It was easier to ignore now though that they were both mostly moved out and he didn't have to face them on a day-to-day basis - though he did see Austin pretty much every day, but Austin rarely ragged on his dad.
