Altered expectations, long anticipation
Everything is changing
I'm the same and aging


The idea of hot chocolate and a hot bath was all that was getting her through this run. It had been raining on and off since the moment she stepped out of her complex, and the air held a definite wintery chill to it - making for quite the miserable experience. She was committed though and so continued along the sand at a determined jog, content with only the light from the moon - which had thankfully found a hole through the clouds - and the dim yellow glow of the lights that spilled overfrom the street that ran parallel to the beach. It was late, but she had never felt anything but safe out there and so had no reason to be concerned for herself - was just focussed on surviving this and making it home to warmth. Studying had overdone itself for the evening and she hadn't been able to sit quietly watching television when she promised herself earlier that day that she would stick to her schedule and go running. Her blonde waves - usually so carefully styled - were dripping and pulled back into a messy bun, and she wore just damp grey sweats and a soaked-through white long-sleeved tee, but her appearance was of little concern that miserable night...
