In reply to: Tex 's message, "if you don't want them, i'll take them" on Sat, Oct 11 2003, 9:01pm PDT

"Oh yeah?" piped up Ms. Burbank, in reply to Tex's comment on her cocoa. Uh-oh... here comes the cocoa recipe's life story. "Well... the recipe for it has been in my family for years, I mean... probably at least 20. I think it's just one of those things that everyone in my family has tried and become attached to. I'm very glad you like it, Tex, dear..." With a bit of a thoughtful smile and a content sigh, Ms. Burbank turned back to her scrubbing of the countertop, silently feeling proud of her family's recipe. Once Liam's mother had finished her explanation and Liam, and his father were done hearing for the 50-millionth time, Mr. Burbank turned back to Tex with his same ol' friendly smile as he shook her petite hand. Liam had told his parents about Tex, but they only knew what he was willingly to exploit. And if his father knew about Tex's past, then it wasn't because Liam's lips had slipped... it was only because the girl whom he loved had been covered throughly by the media over the last few years. As his father turned back to Tex, Liam mentally whispered a few words to Tex, knowing full-well she'd never hear them... 'He doesn't know you...'
"Nice to meet you, Tex... I've heard so much." Mr. Burbank said, still smiling. "My son talks very highly of you... Now, I hope you like lasagna, because Diane has spent the whole day making both a vegitarian one, and a meat one... We didn't know which you'd prefer." remarked Mr. Burbank, a bit of a guilty smile 'cross his face as his wife chimed in with a smile 'cross her rosy lips. "Yes... we didn't know, so I just made both. And oh yes, don't worry if lasagna isn't your taste... I can always make you something else, alright dear?" That was exactly like Ms. Burbank -- always worrying about the people around her... "Now... let me see, the lasagna will be done in about 20 minutes, I hope that isn't too long..." mumbled the aging woman with a bit of a fretful look as she glanced up to her son, and his companion. "No, it's fine, Mom..." Liam reassured her, rising from his chair to smooth his hand over his mother's back. "I'll show Tex, around... maybe she'll even be able to meet Briar." Liam suggested with a bit of a smile as he glanced to Tex, his hazel eyes almost begging her to comply... he had stuff to ask her, and it couldn't want any longer.
