The downtown core is the heart of everyday activity for the community. Center City, the large mall, is the workplace of many and, with its vast variety of shopping options, is also a popular way to waste a rainy day or a lazy summer afternoon. The Commons is a huge building that boasts a variety of dining options - from romantic fine dining to ethnic food court style to a casual hangout diner. Also in the area is the recreation center, which is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It is a state-of-the-art workout facility - complete with an indoor track, swimming pools, and even a daycare facility - and is run by RD's own Jaden King.

  A small smirk touched his lips and a brow raised as he gazed out at all the people making their way inside, and then looked back to her sitting at his side. "You're pretty perfect looking tonight too, sweetie." He reminded her gently and then kissed her cheek once more before slipping out his door and handing the keys to a valet and then heading over to her side to offer her his arm. This sort of thing was often as much about the social event as the art, and normally he wasn't all that interested in the networking side of things, but if he ever wanted to be known as an artist in this town, he had to get his name out there and meet some people. Taking a deep breath, he ducked his head to kiss the side of her neck warmly - inhaling her sweet, alluring scent at the same time - before finally leading the way inside, pausing only at the front door to identify himself on the guestlist, and her as his guest for the night...

  • She smiled warmly, her eyes closing for a moment when he kissed her neck, her hand coming up to curl around his bicep for a moment before it dropped back to her side and she headed inside with him. Her eyes widened as she looked around, her fingers tightening around his arm and she was about to speak before one of the owners of the gallery came over, fawning over him, complimenting him on the turn out and encouraging him that the night would only get busier from here. Cam stayed politely at his side before the gallery owner insisted he meet a few people. A smile crossed her lips when he looked down at her.   • He had been raised right by his parents and knew how to make conversation and be gracious and friendly when it was necessary - he was just more comfortable and more himself when he could be quiet and broody, but for a night like tonight he could put on a smiling face. He warned her affectionately and dipped his head to kiss her warmly once, and then twice before allowing himself to be ushered off to meet people. He didn't mind the PDAs tonight - not that he ever did really, but tonight especially he wanted everyone to know that she was with him.   • She smiled sweetly, promising she would be back after one quick tour around the gallery before she headed off. She paused at each painting, the ones that she had been there while he was working on catching her attention in particular. When she gazed at the painting she saw a lot more than the picture, she saw the expression on his face when he was getting that strand of hair just right on the woman's head, she saw the way he so carefully played with the colors until he got it right the way he wanted...she saw into him, his soul, his feelings and his intentions with the painting and she felt privilaged that she was privy to that. She smiled a touch at the picture she was looking at before she headed towards the crowd who was standing around one larger portrait, wondering which one that was. When he spotted her by the portrait of herself, he worried for a moment - he had thought about asking her if they could use it, but then had been afraid she would be shy and say no, and then had recalled that she had said he could do what he wanted with the paintings he did of her... So, he had given the gallery permission to use it, and he just hoped that she wouldn't be upset with him. Slipping up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and brushed a kiss to the sensitive spot behind her ear before resting his chin on her shoulder. "I hope you're not mad..." Meeting new people in such a vulnerable situation was a little bit nerve-wracking - something so personal to him was on display for everyone to see, and he just wanted them all to appreciate what he did. A soft laugh escaped him and he shrugged a little, brushing her hair back with one hand so he could lean down and place a sweet kiss to the curve where her shoulder met her neck. "Well just enjoy it. You deserve it." He meant it, and a comment like that was just like him - to turn a night that he had worked hard his whole life for, into something that she deserved to enjoy as well. She smiled warmly, encouraging him to talk with some of the younger artists who were there and impressed with his work, even though he wanted to shrug off the praise she would have none of it. Her hand was always on his bicep, on his wrist, on his back, they constantly touching and she loved that too, he was just such a strong, talented person, she was proud to be there with him. Standing behind her in front of one of the paintings, half involved in a conversation, his fingers kneaded the smooth flesh of her shoulders, a slight, polite smile lighting his features. He had loved the whole night - meeting new, connected people, receiving praise, and getting to spend the whole time with his paws all over her acting like a couple. He liked it. It had been the most couple-y he had been with a girl in a long time and it had been more than nice. He didn't really think anyone would mind though - he had paid his dues, and met lots of people, and been friendly and gracious. He agreed easily and with some confidence, because he was being truthful - thanks to the gallery's connections and reputation, they had succeeded in making the opening night of his first big art showing a success. His hands slid up her sides, then back down to her hips for a moment, before both raised to push back her hair and cup her face as he kissed her forehead softly. "I think I have done okay for meeting and greeting... If we left soon, I don't think any one would mind." He hoped no one would even notice, but it was getting late enough that he figured no one could blame him for heading out. A small smile touched his lips and he nodded a little. "Sure sweetie.   He had made her laugh with his antics the whole time he was driving, he was actually pretty excited about being able to drive his car - a flashy beemer - for the first time in forever and it had taken him awhile to get there because he insisted on taking the long way so he could drive just a little bit longer. A low breath escaped his lips when he finally parked the car and leaned back against the headrest in the car, a smile on his face as he looked over to her. "Thats great...so great." He stated with a grin in his very voice before he hopped out of the car and jumped around to her side to open her door and then locked the car up behind them. He was feeling great, being out and about, doing normal things that a couple should do. As soon as he was close enough, he snuck his arm around her waist and tugged her close to his side, brushing his lips to her temple. "So where to first, princess? Anything you want...and no saying no either, this is my first time out...I haven't a chance to spend any of the money I got this knock in the head for and I want to spend some of it on you." he winked down at her, hugging her close to his side before he loosened his grip a little bit but still kept her close to his side.

  • Cash outside of the house was quite different from Cash inside the house, and it just made him appear all the more attractive - seeing this light-hearted, goofy version of him. She was still laughing - softly now, and almost just absently - to herself as she let him open her door for her to get out, and then wrapped both of her arms around him for a tight squeeze before they started walking. An arm remained around his waist as they strolled into the big, bright shopping center, and she glanced up to him every couple of steps, an amused and affectionate smirk lingering over her fine lips. "Well, baby, I think the real reason for us being here is that you need a hair cut something awful... So I think we should start with that."   He was none to impressed with the letter he found on the doorstep that morning, the one he was reading over in his office and trying to decipher. The note was pretty to the point; he had Luca's family and Luca wasn't going to rest until he had them back. He ran a hand over his face, letting out a low breath as he picked up the phone and dialed the number to his supervisor, reporting the incident and sliding the letter back into the envelope carefully so that it could be processed for any evidence in a lab. His girlfriend definitely didn't need this right now, in fact, he just wanted to get a ring on her finger and her in a wedding dress so that baby would legally have his last name and by all manners of the law be his. This wasn't something he wanted to mess with. He had wanted to hope that Luca would just count his blessings and book it out of the country without looking back but apparently that would be to damn easy for Brett, nothing ever went that easily for him. A soft sigh escaped his lips in frustration before he growled, wishing he had something to throw. Instead, he had to be content with shoving his chair across the room as he stood and crossed to the large window which offered a view of center city. His hand lifted to run through his hair, a nervous habit that he'd always held since he first met her over a year ago now. A year had passed and he still didn't have this son of a bitch in custody and now the whole thing was personal. What had previously been Luca's woman was now his and the child that grew within for almost three months now was Luca's though Brett considered it to be his. She was his after all, and that baby was a part of her so thus, the baby was also his. There was no way Luca was getting his hands on either one of them. This was no longer about wmd's or anything like that, this was about putting away the man who had put Brett's future wife in danger. If he closed his eyes he could still see Luca shoving her into the glass partition in his apartment, he could hear the sickening thud of her head hitting and damnit if she hadn't been carrying the bastards own child at the time. The man obviously didn't care in the least for her well being, it was all just a matter of pride now. He was trying to show Brett up and this special agent wasn't going to stand for it. With a growl, he turned back to the desk that he hated but had to work behind for awhile as he tried to figure out where Luca was. He knew Dom hated it but he had to be out in the field, it was dangerous, yes, but he would go nuts with a desk job. Resisting the urge to create a huge mess and shove everything off the desk to the ground, he instead to a deep, calming breath and looked to the clock. He had to calm himself, Dom was meeting him shortly so that they could go out to lunch and she would be coming into the office - making all the other male agents drool all over themselves and curse Brett for his good luck - any second now. Him being in a rage wouldn't help anything. Quietly, he sat back down at the desk and closed the documents he had been reviewing, instead bringing up a calming game of mahjong. For some reason the game soothed him and he would take whatever calm he could get.

"It's not that bad out, and I've got a sweater..." She protested, but just meekly, and allowed him to guide her out. Really, she wasn't chilly and didn't think that she needed his jacket, but she knew better than to refuse it and so pulled it on, then slipped an arm around his waist for the walk out. "Starving." She admitted, because it was the truth - she didn't typically eat very much, and was still tiny despite the growing baby inside of her, but her appetite had definitely been increasing over the past week or two.   He had finally convinced her to let him out of the house so he'd had the extreme under used as of late chauffer take them to the fancy side of the resturaunt here, five stars, quiet, private and candle lit. He made his way in, feeling more himself then he had in weeks. He was clad in black pants that fit him perfectly, showing off his long legs and muscular form and a pale blue shirt of a soft material, satin or silk maybe but not as flashy, that brought out his eyes. The sleeves were rolled up around his elbows, the first button undone with a white tie on over that though it was loosened already also. He'd had one of the girls who worked for him pick her up a beautiful back dress that was perfect for the occasion. He was greeted by name when they came in before they were shown the way to their private table, him pulling out the chair for her. "Madamoiselle..." He murmured, winking playfully.

  • She was from a reasonably well-off family - though nothing like his wealth of course - and had grown up amidst the glitz and glam' of of a lively city, and was used to getting dressed up and going out. So, she was in love with this dress - it wasn't too much, but it was just enough. Her normally soft and straight blonde hair was curled loosely and left down, and with her naturally pretty features she rarely wore more than the basic cosmetics - but tonight had opted for a more extreme smokey look for the evening out.   She hadn't seen him in nearly two months and now she was growing increasingly close to her due date. She had been almost six months along when she left and now at nearly eight she was huge in her opinion. Her ankles were always swollen and her back always hurt though she hadn't gained quite as much weight as she should have thanks to the lack of money. Her manager here had taken her under her wing though and was always making her break for little snacks and whatnot - she had a feeling Julietta didn't have enough money to eat right on her own - and tried to make sure she took care of herself. Even the sweet older woman couldn't remind her of the doctors appointments she had missed though and Julietta herself didn't realize that the doctor would be calling Hudson about the missed appointments. The stunning young woman just hadn't thought about it was all, all she cared about was making enough money to keep the shitty little room she slept in and making it from day to day. Currently she was waiting on a table, her hand on her back as she shifted and bit the pencil between her teeth. "Yeah, I got it, decaff."   Trin pushed the door open to the coffee shop and motioned for a sever. Once settled in a tiny barstool she ordered a turkey snadwich and orange smoothie. Absentmindedly, she picked up the morning paper and flipped straight to the comics while eating. After smileing at a few funnies and rolling her eyes at most she finished her smoothie and payed the server the correct amount. She then twisted in her chair to watch the news clips and stayed a few moments longer to hear the top stories.   He made his way in child free - the toddler was spending the day with Aunt "my-my" and his cousins. A hand raked through his hair, then he dropped it to the side - remembering that it was styled and it was a mess when it was ruffled. Smiling at the cute girl at the counter, he ordered a mocha frappacino with extra mocha drizzle on top before he headed towards the outside deck, lighting a cigarette and setting down. This was his way of relaxing, rarely, maybe once a week, he would get a coffee and smoke a cigarette, it just relaxed him.

He knew he could’ve done better… but, only if he had known she was sure to come… (so, I guess that means he had done his best under the circumstances.) And there was no way that Liam could have ever known that Tex would gladly accompany him to prom. Actually, Liam couldn’t picture any girl ever wanting to be latched to his side, prom night. He betted 10 to 1 that it probably repulsed half – if not more – of the general female population; the idea of spending an evening with a male specimen such as himself. Aww… poor Li, the poor dear really did need to brush up his self esteem skills. “Uhh…” mumbled Liam, picking at the cuticles of his short, obviously nervous. Eventually, the rather handsome boy looked up to meet Tex’s eyes. “T-thanks… I mean, this means a lot to me, Tex… If I… if you didn’t want to go, then, well…” Liam paused, glancing down to the striped carpet pattern ‘pon his bedroom floor… “If you didn’t… I’d… I’d be dateless. The guys wouldn’t let me forget it either…” Liam ended up murmuring. Glancing to the white corsage that was bundled up in a plastic container to keep it fresh, Liam gave explanation… suddenly worrying about his selection of flowers, and just the corsage overall. “Oh, don’t worry… I just.. didn’t know which one to get; which one you’d like. I’ll get a prettier one for prom night, we’ll get a better one… you can even pick it out.” And then, out of the blue… something miraculous happened, Liam whispered a few words that were practically un-fathomable when it came to Liam. “Tex, what would you do… if I, um, kissed you… say now?   Tex MacBride was far from being the normal girl that she was consistently pretending to be while in Liam's presence. And as I said before, Tex was not good at meeting new people, in fact.. she was downright crummy about it. Her hand was snug in Li's and her eyes were trained upon the ground that her flip flop clad feet kept touching down upon. Her other arm was wrapped around her middle as they approached the couple that had produced Liam, the couple who had given her her angel. Part of her couldn't wait to meet them, but the other half, the more evil half was afraid that they'd disapprove of her, that she wasn't really good enough for their angel, their bright light. She sniffs a little bit and steals a glance up at Li, her voice quiet as she speaks. "Li, I'm scared.. Help me out with this.. please?" Try to see her not scared!
