Subject: She pushed back and gently smoothed his hair before smiling reassuringly and sitting back as he did. "Maybe a good sandwich? And soup?" She let the subject drop just as easily as he did, and leaned forward a little again so that she could look over her menu. Beneath the table, her toes slipped out of their sandals - sure it was still only January, but it was sunny and relatively warm that day, and her feet felt so much better when they were free - and brushed his calf absently, affectionately, as she glanced between him and her menu. Somehow, the idea of going home alone to their place after lunch when he went back to work wasn't so appealing now... But he couldn't babysit her all day every day for the rest of her life.

He ordered for the both of them - a big burger and fries for him - before the waitress went on her way to put in their order. "What did you do today?" He questioned, reaching for normalcy after their stressful conversation. "I am going to go pick up the crib after work I think..." They had picked out a beautiful hand carved mahogany crib from a private woodsmen, he had wanted something unique for their baby, not something that another kid had.
