He lets them talk, placing a hand lightly on Kayli's leg under the hospital blanket, his eyes darting from Kayli to Nicky and back. Damn he could use a joint. Shivering slightly he bites his lip as Mahlon comes in again.

Taking a seat on the small loveseat in the room he watches Shane through narrowed eyes. He didn't wholly believe that he hadn't encouraged Kayli. Nicky said if Shane hurt her sister that he was gone..and he didn't want that to happen. Not when he was about to..damn. He dropped his hand to his pocket, feeling it empty. The ring was still at Shanes house. Mentally cursing himself he stands and whispers to Nicky, "I'll be right back, I gotta go pick something up. Ya'll want something to eat?"
