If the three foundations, Pittsburgh, Heinz and Mellon, did not exist, neither would WESA. They aren't that popular in the area and even got rid of their local interview show. All they want is to broadcast 24/7 NPR crap aimed at a few hundred people plus the foundation leaders and those who run the station. The hell with what the community wants. If it's lousy, we don't care. We're subsidized

Actually, that thinking sounds a lot like the way execs at Trib Total Media thought a few years ago. And we saw how that came out!
