I guess you posted for the same reason I still check this forum... Lately, I've been working on Final Fantasy X, but the last couple days, I broke out the original Diablo again. I have to share your opinion about D2... Don't like it as much. They made a lot of things more convenient, as far as gameplay goes, but honestly I miss the graphics and the spells system of the original. The other thing is, it seems like it takes forever to go through the game actually clearing all the areas and keeping an eye out for that item that you really need. Sometimes I just wish someone would make a mod for D1 that had the same gold, player trading, arrows, and maybe finally fix that duping glitch. D2 was really only a lot of fun until I beat it the first time and then it started to get old quick. As far as hacking on b.net goes, I've personally never seen D2 hackers in the realms. I haven't played D1 on b.net for a while, but I'm sure nothing's changed. Maybe if D1 had a realm system, it'd be safe to everything but maybe duping... Anyway, enough about that.

I miss Camelot, too... But don't go thinking you let us all down. Trying to run this place and/or get it organized to be rebuilt is no small task. The positions of High Knight and KoRT have always been stressful and difficult positions in Camelot. Quite honestly, I think that too much was often placed on those members of Camelot. Take Prevalon for example who was the sole KoRT for the longest time and the only time I ever saw him on b.net was at meetings. I never played with him and the only people I heard saying that they had before were longtime or founding members of Camelot... He had no time for playing he was so busy running the day-to-day events of Camelot, and sometimes I wondered why he did it. We all joined to play games with individuals of like values. What I'm getting at here is that the fault shouldn't fall on anyone, because there is no fault that the membership disappeared... People lose interest or their lives change. Some of us graduated high school and study/party too much to play anymore, others graduated college and now they're men and women with careers and don't have time... And other times, people just start playing a different game or find a new hobby that takes up their free time. When Camelot disbanded, Diablo was a very old game and even D2 is starting to get up there. I know when I left Camelot, I took quite a hiatus from the game, because at the time that I left Camelot, I'd been playing for over five years of original Diablo before I got D2. Now, I may be wrong, but I don't think any of us came to Camelot with the intention of wanting to try to lead it someday... To spend all of our gaming time taking care of guild business, to intervene in arguments on the forum, delete inappropriate posts, reprimand or exile members, perform activity checks, or stress themselves over a diminishing members roster. We all came to play, to make friends, and to have fun. The difference is that some of us came to play and some of us stayed to serve... Which is something I should've done a better job of myself. I think I was actually much more active when I was an Initiate than I was as a Knight. It was chief among my goals when I joined Camelot to become a Knight. I won't lie, I wanted the title and the respect that came with it... Now, looking back, I'm saddened by how little I did with my Knighthood after I got it. I didn't sponsor a single squire... The most I did was attempt to organize an event, which didn't draw enough interest to succeed. Remember, Neo, you are one of Camelot's finest... And don't forget it.

Semper Fi,
Bedwyr
