That's pretty much pointless. The thing you seem to keep missing is that fact that no one shows up to any meetings anymore. Also, Neocount is correct when he says that in the rare occasion that something does get voted on and decided upon, it is never done. What is the point of showing up to a meeting if nothing gets decided, and when it does, nothing comes of it.

A "weekly meeting" that people could "show up to if they wanted to" would be a waste of time. That's how it is now. No one has to show up, and since nothing is ever resolved, there is no point in even really having meetings. Anything can be discussed on the Message Boards if it is really important to discuss. In fact, most votes in the past year have been taken over the Message Board, due to the fact that meeting attendance has plummeted.

It's also important to remember that Camelot has really gone to hell (IMHO). We have no real leadership, no central person or people to rally around when we need something done. No one wants to do anything, and it has been that way for about a year. I've simply become discouraged from even going onto ICQ to find a game of Diablo or even Diablo 2 when the rare temptation hits me, basically because no one wants to play it. (I know I'll hear the "I'm always willing to play blah blah blah" stuff I always hear from that comment, so please don't even put it here)

In the past, I would be able to go onto ICQ and within (literally) seconds, I would have someone inviting me to a game of whatever. Now, I go online, look to see if Kain, Neocount, or Solar are online to play a game. No one else is on enough to look for, and the people who do rarely come on do not "have enough time to play", even if I really only want to play a quick Laz run or get one level while playing with a friend in Diablo 2. The only real fun I now get is when Neocount, Kain, or Solar ask to play a game of Ultima Online or Brood War.

Sure, if anyone ever asked me to play a game of Diablo or Diablo 2, I would gladly play, but no one asks anymore. No one seems to have time to play that half hour game. No one has time to update a web page once a week. No Knights have time to properly train their squires. No one has the common decency to say that they are leaving Camelot, so instead they simply disapear. Then there are those who are leaving for X amount of months, but still do not make sure that their duties will be taken care of. *looks for Feleepees*

Basically, what I'm saying is that no one has anytime for Camelot. I remember when Aragorn left, 3 or 4 people picked up his duties rather quickly. They also did it without complaining, and without too much encouraging.

Now when someone has to leave, their duties basically close. No one wants to do the work that takes 10 minutes. Look at our webpage and roster...I have not seen one update in about 3 months. Solar updates the Herald whenever there is something to put down, and he has to beg people to write up some strategies for Diablo 2 (not that anyone helps him out and sends anything in).

I think either people get their collective asses in gear, or we simply leave Camelot as it is. Let it collapse, so to speak, and let the dream that Camelot's founders had die.

The dream of a group of people, who could get together after a long day of real life problems, jobs, school, and simply relax and enjoy a game, while occasionally doing a little work to make the "Kingdom" better.

My usual signature since I joined Camelot as Divine_Wizard has been:

Semper Fi,
War

The words do have meaning. It seems people have forgotten exactly what the words meant, and mean.

I've grown tired...it seems almost funny to say this, but I feel like an old man. I've been here for 2 years. I've seen the truley great things this guild is possible of, and I've also seen the lazyness that has overtaken the guild.

I'm definatly not the oldest member here, but I am also not the youngest. I think I'm just beginning to come to realize I can cry, bitch, and moan all I want on the Message Board. It will not change anything. I know people are going to roll their eyes. I know people will be offended, and not like hearing the truth, or simply not beleive it.

I cannot speak for my friends in the guild, but I have a feeling most will agree with me on most of this.

I have spent a half hour of typing this message, this final plea for people in Camelot to hold the Kingdom together and persevere. Yet, I know it is pointless. Most people will glance at this, and probably not care. Many probably will not read past the first three of four paragraphs. That is great. It is another example of lazyness...not taking the 3 minutes (tops) it might take to read this whole thing.

Semper Fi,
War
