Subject: Kids, listen to the sound, NOT HYPE

I just wrote, but I have to Again: After reading some of these past messages, below my own, I just have to say: "IF YOU READERS ARE FANS, THEN YOU MUST HAVE SOME INDIE MUSIC INTEREST, AND DOESN'T THAT TEACH YOU THAT GREAT MUSIC IS TALENT, NOT ALWAYS "TOPOFFICE" SUCCESS!!??? My parents moved to Austin, from Latvia, and we happened to end up living next to a man named Townes VanZandt; He died of a mixed o.d., after years of believing in himself, and having fans, but no real recognition; He would come over whilst I was little, and apparently, sing impromtu songs to me, on his knee. Now, he is sited on EVERY NPR, 89.9 interview with steve earle, johnny cash, ETC, ETC, as their first and MOST important influence...Now, a tribute album is out, with EVERYONE, even Cowboy Junkies, which I can't believe, and all other names, Redoing HIS Songs... If only he had lived to see the day...I am not saying anything against Josh, but, this is a site for T.B.T.,no?>and if it doesn't apply to them, to the success of the creator,or the band, then, how IS IT, to you people out there, THAT ARE NOT THE ONES LIVING EITHER LIFE, find so much worth in talking about the manchild Bob started out? Bob's friends with alot of talented mainstream musicians, and one of them told me once, " I know I am glad I have money and a big house,BUT, when I am alone, I wish even more, that I could have the 'MIND' and Talent that my friend Bob does..." Take it from the reality...and put it into perspective...As people that write on this site, AS IT IS A BICYCLE THEIF SITE, you Should BE The Ones That are the Support. If hype and 'who knows who' is important to any of you, then how did you become obsessed with this band, like I did? read below to hear mine. Many of you, whom have the time to write on this message board, like I admit, I also do, as I never sleep well, If you do not recognize this band as far as it's talent, and Only as far as the member that breaks out.. I HAVE to point out: HOW would you ever KNOW the success of Josh, Had You Not Been T.B.T. fans? What brought anyone who has written, to this sight? : It is the TBT band itself. Anyone that starts as a devote member, but then, schmoozes away, because of connections and possible fame they will NEVER touch, never experience... THIS IS My Point: The listener, all you get is the 'SOUND,' so , why anything beyond THAT causes you to disrespect that which you originally came to by inspiration, is DARK... you can Certainly be happy for those that 'succeed' $$$$wise, but, which do you think is the one that it means SO much to, that they will do any other job to support their passion? Whom do you really value, regardless......I would imagine it would be the SAME person you were able to come to this sight , because of!!! -XMJR ahlev1@excite.com
