A young woman�s thin frame came into view farther down the hall as Raquel followed the delicate curve in the stone wall. Immediately the childish figure of the peculiar girl she had come to know as Ivy came into view. The child had seemed to be in a hurry but for one reason or another, the pitter patter of her tiny shoes against hard stone had changed course as she ducked into one of the rooms lining the hall. A soft sigh was released from Raquel�s lips as she continued forward, the Mistress was importunate and already had begun a search for the small girl; not because she was worried about her of course, more so because she needed someone to take on a heavier work load. If the child didn�t report back to the kitchen soon the hole of trouble being created would expand into a vicious scandal and the Mistress�s temper balloon out of portion.
Softly she knocks on the door that already stood ajar before peering into the dimly lit room only to find Ivy, as expected, and Noah. She watched the girl accept the gifts before stepping farther into the room, a somber look displayed on her visage. �Mistress is not pleased, Ivy, you�d better return to your work soon.� Her words were stern and strict, the child had to stop running off; an unhappy boss was fun for no one to deal with. A few steps close the gap between the child and herself as she says, �Thank the Lord and be on your way.� Then with a soft yet firm touch she ushers the girl out of the room.
Turning to Noah, a distasteful expression plastered on her face, she speaks �You shouldn�t give the girl such things; they only increase a want for something she can�t have. She�s not like other children, Noah; she�s been on her own just barely scraping by for the past few years. Showering her with things from the upper society doesn�t help her.�

Ivy had followed the strange man into the room, the pestilence of safety having long ago taken over her better judgment of strangers in the castle. Had the walls not offered the sanctity and protection she would have never followed an unknown man or woman anywhere. But she did and that was exactly what brought her to be standing patiently a few feet into the room as the man rummaged through a box. Her sage colored eyes lit up when the burgundy dress had been extracted from the box and offered to her along with the brush and coin. Tiny hands are extended to receive the gifts but before the shock of having it could wear off enough for her to remember her manners a new voice cut into the air. A red flushed through her little cheeks as Raquel stated she had better thank the man. �Thank you so very much, Milord.� Her voice was nothing but sweet, charming, and grateful. She dipped into a quick curtsy before turning and exiting the room, now back on the path to the kitchen; but first, to hide her newly found treasures.
