Subject: On to business
In reply to: Atlas 's message, "Onward" on 12:49:50 11/22/03 Sat

Anarky paused momentarily, staring at the dashing face of her companion. The glare of the morning sun shining on her dark cheeks was concealment for the flush that rushed there. Not that it had mattered much, as Atlas was staring in the direction he assumed they needed to be heading.

She pulled from her supplies a map and compass (Both only slightly useful in the dreaming), and began to compare her surroundings to the information they had been supplied. She stopped for a moment, looking back in the direction the map had been telling her they'd just teleported from. Her gorgeous purple eyes squinted to see the distance, then looked impressedly back to the Troll.

"Not bad, man! You totally saved us damn near three days! Have I told you recently how much you flat kick ass?" She smiled a toothy grin to him, then looked quickly back to her map and compass. "Well, it seems we've got about another half a day - give or take any unforseen circumstances, but the path seems perilous. It's..." She looks hard and gestures beyond a steep cliff of rock about half a mile off "... it's up around there, and down a steep cervass... in fact, I don't know how anyone could normally pass through the trecherous moutains!"

They eventually found that between them they had enough mettle to endure the trappings and hazards that the harsh mountain had to offer, despite how hard the old thing cruely tried to stop them. As Anarky had calculated, it indeed was a matter of seven and a half hours to complete, and they had indeed nearly reached a disasterous end on the way. At one point, Anarky slipped from the side of a sheer crossaround cliff, and went sliding towards a vast drop-off. Luckily, Atlas reached and caught her just in time, but that sent both sliding down, and spiralling off the face - it was Anarky's turn, though, and she managed to wrap her legs around a jutting Stump, saving them both.

Soon after the fall they made a brief lunch, and talked at length about Anarky's own past. She'd seen many a dark day in her persuit of her dreams, and had many a tale to tell. All in all, Atlas could derive two facts above all others: The woman could fucking wrestle, and she had no idea how to give up. She sounded like a troll.

After their lunch, they continued until they reached the landmarks marked on the map - which pointed down towards a thin crack of a crevasse, about 4 feet wide. Shimmying down it, they found that it annoyingly made two turns, until it finally ended at the ceiling of a cave. The cave was 15 feet high, and they had to make a careful drop onto it's smooth floor. Inside, it was obvious that it was not of natural design.

The tunnel was long stretched both ways, though one wrapped around and out of sight, and lit by what appeared to be artificial lighting along panels on it's sides. The immediate way led directly to a large bulkhead, about fourty feet away, in which rested two large metal sliding doors (Atlas' human side totally thought they were a bit too identical to the ones outside of Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi). Outside it, on a little signpole was a small metal sign. It read:

"ATTENTION VISITOR'S: TO SPEAK WITH THE MASTER, HIT THE GREEN BUTTON ->
IF YOUR BUSINESS IS URGENT, OR ABOUT A PARCEL, HIT THE RED BUTTON ->"

Next to it were indeed, two small buttons.

Anarky passed a curious glance at her Troll partner, and shrugged. This seemed easy enough.
