Sherwood falls silent, knowing any attempts to soothe him with tales of the creatures here, or what he knew of their Master or the house that held them, disinterested the satyr. He was focused on his goal.

Into what must be night, the silence stretches punctuated by a sleepy cough and the hourly racket of Chapman's chimes, Ikari could count five, six, seven hours, if the old man's clock was still true. It was easy to see how the captives here went slowly insane.

As sleep drifted about Ikari's head, taunting him to keep his concentration, the shadows catch h unaware.

A black hand slips around his upper arm and holds tightly. A voice behind him speaks in a deep, low tone.

"You're being moved to the display room. Come with me."
