My Congratulations to John Mason for the superb story in the Register Star front page July 6th regarding Elks Lodge emerges from legal battles to build again.
His investigative reporting has surfaced the rumors that were being circulated regarding the here to fore untold story that the Fireman's Association of the State of New York dished out to get both projects out of litigation.
Another important Story by Joe Prout also on today's Front Page reports on the Town's attorney seeks reimbursement from KNGG for Article 78 court costs.
Marc Gold doing his job in behalf of all the people in Kindehook has taken the proper action and placed the issue on the Judge's plate for resolution over the objections of the outraged KNGG.

The Register-Star hasn't gotten the story right once in two years and, sorry to say, neither have you Tom. What they did accomplish, though, is to confirm that a legal confidentiality has been publicly breached by a member of the City's law enforcement establishment. This, however, is an issue that will soon be addressed in the proper forum; not in the local newspaper.

How much was dished out and to whom and why is it not of public interest? Is this another case of extortion to get worthwhile projects passed?

Public interest or private nosiness? When no public money is involved, the public has no more right to know than they have the right to know what you earn in a year. The better question is why a certain city official doesn't feel he have to abide by the confidentiality agreement he signed. What other confidential information does he tell his friends?
