Alex's Lemonade Stand Fund is set up as a component of The Philadelphia Foundation. They are a community foundation,which is a pool of charitable funds (they currently manage about 200 million dollars). They handle all our paperwork, accounting, tax forms, administrative work, use of their offices, etc (they charge a 1% administrative fee for all these services). They even send a thank you to all donors. When we make a grant we just fill out a form and they cut a check. When Alex set up this fund it was her wish that all grants not go specifically to NB Research. She is interested in trying to help other pediatric cancers as well. Although we try to channel most of the money to projects that benefit NB directly or indirectly. If you know of any research projects that need money, please let us know, especially research projects that can have an immediate impact.
