I absolutely agree. I think there needs to be a big group of parents focused towards a common goal. The more I have thought about it the more I am convinced that a concerted effort is the way to go. Personally, I have dismissed the idea of creating my own non profit for that very reason. Through more research I have found that there are some groups that already exist that share my same goals. So I am not going to recreate the wheel. I have decided to help Pat and the CNCF as much as I possibly can. She has already done so much for us as parents and continues to fight for neuroblastoma everyday. Quite frankly, I am amazed. For me, I like the idea of having a medical panel to help make decisions on where funds could be best spent on the road to the cure and I like the fact that there is active parental involvement and leadership. Most importantly they think big and I think this attitude and perservearance is what is going to get the job done. They have made great strides in becoming a nationally and internationally respected group and I think they are well on there way. I can't speak for anyone else but there is a group that can consolidate us (They already have for support and info in Chicago). For that reason, I will step up and say I am going to join whatever parents will join me to support the CNCF. I guarantee that with enough parents we can make it happen and our consolidated efforts will make it much easier to conquer. Just my two cents.
