BUFFY Not a peep Buffy kicks the vamp off, Faith kicks hers off FAITH It’s been two weeks The two come back to back as they stake the pending vampires BUFFY (wiping off) Tara’s still connected to her – she’s safe FAITH Guardian Angel BUFFY She is – I mean, not literally but since she got back she’s really helped keep things together FAITH Unlike some of us BUFFY Stop blaming yourself, they all know it wasn’t you FAITH Would’ve made it easier though huh? Rather than seeing a loved one with the devil’s stare BUFFY They don’t hate you Faith. I don’t hate you. Faith and Buffy walk on in silence – elsewhere in the graveyard. Vi is stood against the wall as Kennedy sits on a tomb and Caridad is cross legged on the floor KENNEDY Did you really expect anything else? WILLOW Third time in three years (perks up) Oh but it’s the first time the shop got smashed up and it wasn’t because of me! ANDREW How did you do it the first time? WILLOW It was Anya’s fault really…it was a thing and there was a troll and we don’t like to talk about it TARA It wasn’t very nice NANCY Check. No troll talk XANDER (returning) Say what now? ANDREW Willow’s chipper that she didn’t break the magic shop this time WILLOW I’m not chipper! I’m just relieved and excited about being relieved! NANCY We should probably get on with it – Mr. Gills… XANDER Giles NANCY Mr. Giles wants the shop cleared before the end of the world (walks off with box) Which makes no sense XANDER Gotta love her ANDREW Do you? Willow and Tara look at each other as Xander stops WILLOW Do you hear that? TARA That-that sound with the-the noise WILLOW That’s the one They scatter off to another of the bashed up rooms ANDREW What did I say? XANDER Nothing, they’re expecting awkward silence. ANDREW Why? EXT – SUMMERS GARDEN – DAY Giles is staring directly at the hot Californian sun as Spike steps up behind him SPIKE Feels great doesn’t it Spike spreads his arms and soaks up the son SPIKE Shame you got that dark cloud hangin’ right over you instead GILES Go away Spike SPIKE Thought about it and no GILES Fine Giles goes to leave SPIKE You gonna tell her? GILES Tell who, what? SPIKE Buffy. That you buried her Father to hide the death or was that the key too? GILES That’s none of your business SPIKE Buffy is very my business GILES How exactly is that? GILES I’m here to help SPIKE Right, because we don’t have five slayers, two witches and myself to handle things (beat) Look mate, I’m not rushin’ to shift you off – it’s good havin’ someone else who appreciates decent music but…well way I see it is you can add to Buffy’s stress about Dawn by saying you had a hand in it when you weren’t being taken over by a mystical key (long pause) Or…you can head back to the motherland and avoid all confrontation GILES I’m not going to lie to her SPIKE Then don’t. If she asks you tell her – all you’re doing otherwise is not making a point of telling the truth Spike slaps Giles on the back and walks back into the house CUT TO. INT – SCHOOL – DAY Kennedy is taking a bag up to Willow’s office as she physically crashes into a young girl and is knocked back TORI Wanna watch where you’re going? KENNEDY Back atcha Kennedy rubs her arm as the girl walks off END OF PART ONE EXT – SCHOOL – DAY Kennedy comes back out of the building to see Caridad and Vi KENNEDY Hey what are you doing here? CARIDAD I came by to meet with Vivian for lunch VI Vi! CARIDAD What are you doing here? KENNEDY Stuff for Willow – Kennedy rolls her eyes as she sees the girl walk back out of the building KENNEDY That girl just crashed straight into me, it really hurt CARIDAD Do you think that she’s a demon? KENNEDY One way to find out The girl walks past them as Kennedy shoves Vi in front of her VI Hey! TORI What? VI You’re, uh, you’re new here right? TORI Yeah VI Your accent…are you English? TORI I’m from Melbourne VI Is that near London? TORI It’s in Australia VI Oh, I knew that I was just… Vi looks over at Caridad and Kennedy who are both laughing VI Where did you move from? INT – SUMMERS HOME – DAY GILES I still don’t understand how she never crossed our radar TORI She has a name GILES My apologies – and you’ve definitely been in Melbourne since last summer? TORI All the time Willow walks back into the room and places the scythe down TORI What’s that? KENNEDY Not for you TORI Jeez, hostility to the new girl. I thought ‘everybody loved the new girl’ No comments. GILES Anything? WILLOW She’s a slayer – a real one, not a key who’s pretending to be one TORI A what? WILLOW We’ll have a talk later (to Giles) I guess we just missed her – there could me more out that, I only remember picking up Tyler Regan from Queensland. GILES We’ll have to look into it, how’s Tara doing with the locating? WILLOW Pretty good – she’s getting so powerful, almost as powerful as me…not to toot my own horn, way too much of that until lately Giles takes off his glasses and cleans them GILES Yes, well – perhaps you should go and check on her WILLOW On it GILES In the mean time, perhaps Kennedy if you could call Buffy and Faith, let them know about Tori’s arrival KENNEDY On it Tori smiles awkwardly around the room CUT TO. INT – WILLOW AND TARAS ROOM – DAY Tara is sat cross legged on the floor, white light is coming from a small bowl in front of her as she breathes heavily TARA Show me… The room floods with light as Tara finds herself in a room of nothing – just space TARA Dawn? DAWN I’m over here TARA Where? I can’t see you! DAWN Look harder! Tara squints as the shape of Dawn begins to appear, a large bang is heard and the images fades away Tara finds herself back in the bedroom, Willow’s just closed the door behind her WILLOW Hey TARA Hey WILLOW Any luck? TORI Month maybe – I only just got into school when I heard you worked there. I went to your house a couple of times but I whimped out FAITH Scared she was gonna open the door naked? SPIKE You wanted a favour ANDREW Oh make me a man SPIKE (spits drink out) Listen mate I might be comfortable with being naked but I don’t go there ANDREW I mean train me – to fight and stuff, make me more manly SPIKE Oh…oh right, that’s okay then (thinks) What’s in it for me? ANDREW I’ll do your laundry forever and…oh, I’ll make you those onion flowers! SPIKE Done. Tell you what – we’ll make a day of it ANDREW Ooh with a picnic and stuff? SPIKE No. CUT TO. EXT – GRAVEYARD – NIGHT Faith smacks Tori in the face as Buffy blows a whistle TORI That bitch hit me! FAITH That bitch has been doing this for five and half years BUFFY Ladies! (to Tori) She was meant to hit you – that’s the whole point of you showing us what you’ve got. Hit her back. TORI Really? BUFFY Sure, I do it all the time Buffy steps out – Faith goes for Tori again. Tori grabs her arm and twists it behind her back slamming Faith into the side of a tomb before kicking her over in a flip The whistle goes again, Faith makes her way to her feet and holds her face after clicking her arm into place FAITH She’s got it. I like her Faith limps off, Buffy gives an awkward smile to a proud Tori CUT TO. INT – PRINCIPALS OFFICE – DAY Tori is sat with Willow as she hands her piles and piles of forms WILLOW Sign all of these, I’d say read them but it’s not likely you will – nobody does TORI So how come you’re principal when you’re like what – twenty eight? WILLOW Twenty one! TORI My bad (beat) Makes a point though – how are you even out of college? WILLOW I started school a year early TORI Child genius WILLOW Something like (long awkward pause) I’m just acting principal TORI The real one on holiday? WILLOW He got killed last week TORI Sorry, was it…a disease or something? Was he old? WILLOW He was thirty – he got killed by…you want that chat now? TORI I think I might need it WILLOW Buffy’s little sister…well she’s not real TORI Faith? WILLOW (laughs) They are not sisters! But anywise… her kid sister Dawn, she used to be this energy key that could end the world and she was meant to be used like three years ago and so she got sick or so we thought. It turns out this key just made us bring back some hell god…Glory – the bitch. (takes a breath) We bought her back and the key got out of Dawn with no help from me what so ever and took over Glory’s body and killed all these slayers then took over Dawns body. Sent her to another plain before killing her father and getting locked in another time period. (pause) Questions? TORI How did I become a slayer? WILLOW Whoosh that’s a whole other story… TORI I have time Willow slops in her chair before taking a deep breath CUT TO. EXT – GRAVEYARD – DAY Buffy is wearing a pale dress as she sits down in front of Joyce’s grave. She takes the yellow rose out of the holder and replaces it with a fresh one BUFFY Hey Mom – I got darker hair! I’m almost natural now – almost being used incredibly loosely. (sigh) So, Faith’s back again – this time it’s not to attack my family because I have none left – did I mention that?
