SPIKE

Buffy turns to see Spike stamping out a cigarette
BUFFY
You still got that smell thing going on?
SPIKE
Got all of it
BUFFY
Thought you quit smoking
SPIKE
Yeah, passed on that too
BUFFY
I’m scared Spike
SPIKE
Don’t be. Tara and Willow think they’ve found the little bit
BUFFY
Really?
SPIKE
They’re looking into it
BUFFY
What about Faith?
SPIKE
Like I said – she’s been here. She was scared. She must know we know
A look of thought floods Buffy’s face
SPIKE
What’s that then?
Buffy walks over to Spike and whispers into his ear, he frowns with confusion before nodding along to what she’s saying.
CUT TO.
INT – KITCHEN – NIGHT
Xander walks in on Nancy and Andrew
XANDER
You okay?
NANCY
I’ll live
ANDREW
I…I’m gonna go see if Vi needs anything
XANDER

ANDREW
Don’t mention it
Andrew walks out and leaves an awkward silence behind him
NANCY
Xander stop worrying. I knew what I was getting myself into when I came her – I could’ve stayed excluded
XANDER
I don’t want you getting hurt like that again
NANCY
Xander – I’m not going to die
XANDER
You don’t know that! She thought she’d never die, ever!
Xander and Nancy both are shocked until Nancy walks over and kisses Xander on the forehead
NANCY
I know what she meant to you
XANDER
I just miss her so much
NANCY

CUT TO.
INT – DINING ROOM – NIGHT
KENNEDY
What’s going to happen if she finds Faith?
GILES
That’s Buffy’s decision
KENNEDY
She can’t just kill her
GILES
I’m afraid we may have no choice
KENNEDY
So far I’m not seeing a we in this anywhere
Both leap up as the door comes crashing open – Faith
“FAITH”
Hey
KENNEDY
Faith!
Willow, Tara, Xander, Nancy and Andrew come running in
XANDER
Its Faith! She’s in the house
“FAITH”
What’s going on?
GILES
Everybody just stay calm
“FAITH”
Calm? What’s the deal? Where’s Buffy?
BUFFY (O.S)
I’m right here
“FAITH”
B, your friends are flipping out
BUFFY
It’s okay. We have things to do.
Buffy grabs Faith by the hand and leads her off out of the door, Spike watches them leave and Faith winks back at him with a red glint in her eye as the door closes
ANDREW
Did anyone see that?
WILLOW
Oh! I’m not going insane! That’s good, not the eye thing the insane thing and the not being and…shouldn’t we go help?
SPIKE
No. Nobody leaves. She knows what she’s doing.
CUT TO.
EXT – FOREST – NIGHT
Faith and Buffy arrive at the woods, Buffy drops her bag to the floor
“Faith” walks over to her
“FAITH”
What’s this?
Buffy is stood at the burnt out area of woods as she suddenly throws Faith, face down onto the floor
“FAITH”
What the…
Buffy keeps her foot on the back of her head so that she can’t get up without serious snappage. Buffy pulls the lid off the slayer box and the portal opens straight up without the puppets.
BUFFY
Get in
Buffy removes her foot and picks “Faith” up
“FAITH”
What?
BUFFY
It’s the source to the power of the slayer – I need you to take it
“FAITH”
Hey like I’m gonna turn it down you didn’t need to be so forceful
BUFFY
Just do it
“FAITH”
More power huh? Interesting
“Faith” grins as she steps to the portal – she’s immediately blasted back, her ‘mask’ peeling back as she lands. Green light comes out from all holes
BUFFY
Evil doesn’t always mean smart after all
CUT TO.
INT – TOMB – NIGHT
Faith is laying still as white light appears
INT – DAWNS ROOM – NIGHT
Faith is stood at the foot of Dawn’s bed with Dawn
FAITH
Why am I here?
DAWN
You’re the only one who’s not awake – apparently being a non-physical entity means nobody can listen to you and when you’re awake for fright you don’t sleep
FAITH
So why am I sleeping?
DAWN
You’re not –
FAITH
Am I in another coma? Damn!
DAWN
You’re not in a coma – you’re out cold in a tomb, you got beat up by the key
FAITH
You beat me up?
DAWN
I’m not the key. I haven’t been with the others for two and half months now
FAITH
Damn! So, where are you?
DAWN
I don’t know but I need you to get a message to Buffy for me
FAITH
Sure
DAWN
Tell her I’m safe
FAITH
That it?
DAWN
Tell her I’m safe, but she’s not. The Key is power, all power and nothing else. It has no feeling, just the feeling’s of it’s carrier.
FAITH
I remember now, It said something about that
DAWN
She’s in trouble Faith – get up. Get into the woods and help her, tell her she needs to listen to her elders
Dawn fades away as Faith’s eyes spring open. Faith leaps up out of the tomb and sprints across the graveyard.
CUT TO.
EXT – WOODS – NIGHT
“Faith” is giving off light, distorting Buffy as they fight – the light from the portal is also coming through causing a blinking effect as Buffy fights on. She’s weak from the fight and is about to give in as another Faith appears – the real Faith.
FAITH
Buffy?
BUFFY
Over here!
“FAITH”
Where?
FAITH
Don’t answer her! That wasn’t me!
BUFFY
Faith?
Lights are all over the place as everyone moves around. Suddenly the light cuts off as Faith boots “Faith” in the back, smashing her into the portal – it closes after letting out a burst of energy that flings both slayers through the air
They stare at each other across the woods
FAITH
It’s me
BUFFY
I know
Buffy stares at Faith for a while, shaking before bursting into tears, Faith runs over to the slayers side and holds her head in her lap as she lets it all out. The rain stops.
END OF PART THREE
INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – MORNING
Faith and Buffy are both covered in bruises as the other’s sit around awkwardly staring at them both
BUFFY
I’m just glad it wasn’t Dawn who actually killed him
Spike and Giles pass each other awkward glances
WILLOW
Are you having a funeral?
BUFFY
His Sister’s taking care of all of that. I guess we need to get hold of RJ
XANDERS
Vi’s gone to see him today
TARA
I-I’m sorry
BUFFY
What for?
TARA
(to Faith)
Everything
FAITH
Hey don’t sweat it. You had everyone’s back’s it’s cool
TARA
I was t-thinking m-m-maybe we could work together, you know, to find Dawn. I mean, after she spoke to you it would probably help
FAITH
Glad I can be of service
Faith follows Tara out of the room as Willow sits down next to Buffy. Giles is stood in the door way and Xander is sat in front of her as everyone else spreads around the house
XANDER
We’ll get her back wherever she is
BUFFY
I know
WILLOW
Now that the Key or whatever it was is, you know, smooched then we can focus on, y’know, getting Dawnie back
XANDER
It is gone right?
BUFFY
I have no idea
Buffy stares out of the window, something isn’t right.
CUT TO.
INT – WOODS – NIGHT
The bag ground begins to shake violently as is tears open a green fog seeps out from it
CUT TO.
INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – NIGHT
BUFFY
I think we’ll be okay
