The two start slapping at each others arms as the book goes flying into a newly opened vortex in the floor

Buffy watches as the Turok Han, Slayers and Spike fade away leaving only the dead visible.
KENDRA
Do ya tink they knew these thirty minutes would be their last?
Buffy spots Amanda and at least eight other slayers dotted around the floor
Buffy kneels down by Amanda, tearful
BUFFY
I’m so sorry
KENDRA
She can’t hear ya Buffy, she dead remember
Buffy stands back up and walks to Kendra
BUFFY

KENDRA

I don’t need to see this
Kendra punches Buffy over – she falls over the edge of the hellmouth and lands in a field.

Buffy looks over as a girl is backing against a car – she’s short, around eleven years old.
BUFFY
What’s she hiding from?
KENDRA
Her new life
The girl is backing away as if she’s expecting something to follow her. From behind a large hand reaches out and snaps her neck.
KENDRA
Don’t chase it. It’s not your fight anymore you made it there’s
BUFFY
She was…
KENDRA
A slayer. Yes.
BUFFY
But she’s so young
KENDRA
It doesn’t work like that, you know that.
BUFFY

KENDRA
Slayers - Few. Deaths - Many.
BUFFY

KENDRA
I’m not here to solve your puzzle Buffy. I’m here to give you pieces.
BUFFY

KENDRA

Sixty six are dead
Buffy can’t say anything as she holds her gut in disgust.
BUFFY

Xander comes running over and squeezes both of them tightly they look over him at each other

WILLOW

XANDER
Try two hundred thousand!
WILLOW

NANCY
You got the job! Congratulations!
WILLOW

XANDER
Sure, Buffy told you – I was gonna get laid off or get a huge promotion
WILLOW
Buffy didn’t tell me
XANDER

(beat)

CUT TO.
EXT – SUNNYDALE – NIGHT
BUFFY
What is with the retro look?
Buffy stares over at her house – it’s gone.
BUFFY
Where…what world is this?
KENDRA
Yours in about six months – or at least it would’ve been.
BUFFY
Would’ve been?
KENDRA
It’s up to you and Faith
BUFFY
Faith?
KENDRA
You were Chosen. These were not. You’re neglecting your duties
BUFFY
I fight all the time
KENDRA
Only when you’re defending yourself. The fight finds you not the other way
BUFFY

KENDRA

Buffy spins round. She’s now in the graveyard – ahead of her is tombstones reading ‘Rosenburg’ ‘Harris’ ‘Wells’
A one handed Wood comes flying to Buffy’s feet. Dawn steps out in front of her
BUFFY
Dawn!
Dawn leaps onto Wood and goes game face
BUFFY
No…
She sinks her teeth into Wood, drinking him dry.
KENDA
So you see now?
BUFFY
All I can see is death…is this a gift thing again?
KENDRA
You can’t give the same give twice, sometimes you need to receive them.
CUT TO.
INT – MAGIC BOX – DAY
Dawn and Andrew are huddling back behind the counter as a large demon smashes the store up in front of them
ANDREW
Mr. Giles is gonna be so pissed
DAWN
Nah, he’s used to it! He’s never been away for more than a few weeks without the place falling down!
Willow, Nancy and Xander pile through the door
XANDER
Hey guys I…whoa!
The demon stops and snarls at them
NANCY
What is that?
WILLOW
Crap!
Willow waves her hand but it does nothing
WILLOW
Dawn!
DAWN
Spell book – Andrew’s fault!
The demon smacks Willow out of the way and grabs Nancy by the throat
XANDER
Nancy!
Xander smacks the demon but it punches across the store. The demon lifts Nancy above the ground and grins, flashing it’s four inch fangs at her.
Xander fumbles to his feet and smashes his fist through a glass cabinet, grabbing a sheer of glass and charging at the demon, stabbing it in the centre of the back.
It roars in pain and drops Nancy to the floor as it falls down to the floor
Nancy immediately scurries over to a very bleeding Xander
NANCY
Xander
She pulls her over shirt off and ties it tightly around his hand, brushing his hair from his face and smiling.
Willow looks over with a “bless” half smile as Dawn and Andrew lean on each other as if watching the sickliest romantic comedy ever
END OF PART THREE
INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – NIGHT
Willow is passing through the living room, Andrew is sat upside down on the sofa.
WILLOW

ANDREW
Nancy and Xander are deciding if they’re official by “talking”

INT – XANDERS APARTMENT – NIGHT
Nancy is sat with Xander as he passes a drink over to her
XANDER

INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – NIGHT
WILLOW
Cute.
Willow walks through to the dining room where Dawn is sat on the table
WILLOW
Dawnie, sweetie we have chairs
DAWN
I’m trying to meditate
WILLOW

DAWN
I was reading and – healing, apparently it helps me channel my power into actual power as well as be stronger and stuff
WILLOW
Dawn that’s some pretty strenuous stuff

Two’s fine but a dose of magical and training would do me just great
Willow smiles at Dawn before climbing onto the table and holding Dawn’s hands

JOYCE
She’s gone Buffy

You keep calling out her name but she’s been gone for years
BUFFY

Joyce kisses Buffy on the head, her eyes go wide as everything fades to white.

EXT – FOREST – NIGHT
The portal re-opens and Buffy is tossed out to Wood’s feet. She doesn’t look at him she just starts to walk
WOOD
Buffy You’ve been gone for hours what’s wrong?
Buffy ignores him and continues walking, straight past the car.
CUT TO.
EXT – LIVERPOOL STATION, ENGLAND – DAY
A young girl stakes two vampires at once with a broken hockey stick. She smiles with pride – she turns round to a pair of hands, which snap her neck
