Subject: 8x11: Catch 22 Author: VKMax [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 13:53:35 11/23/03 Sun TV Airdate: January 13th 2004 Previously on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Buffy mentions that her Dad’s coming to town – Nightmares 1x11 Buffy’s Dad stands her up for the ice show – Helpless 3x12 Buffy hangs up the phone mentioning her Father is in Spain – 5x17 Forever Dawn is revealed as being sick – The Darkness 8x06 Buffy bumps into her Father – Of Christmas Past 8x10 EXT – GRAVEYARD – NIGHT Buffy is sat on the edge of a tomb looking around, bored completely BUFFY Vampire party my ass! She jumps down and begins walking off as her cell rings BUFFY Xander there was no party! XANDER Buffy you have to come quick BUFFY What? What’s wrong? XANDER It’s…the house it’s under… Xander cuts off, Buffy slams her phone into her pocket and sprints off into the night CUT TO. INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – NIGHT Buffy bursts through the door with her stake in the air as the lights come on. INT – DAWNS ROOM – MORNING Dawn is in bed as Buffy comes in banging pans together BUFFY Dawn time for school! Dawn turns over and knocks an empty bottle off of the side of her desk BUFFY Regretting it now? Dawn rolls over and pulls the pillow over her head BUFFY Up (pause) Dawn! Mr. Giles has been in Los Angeles for like two months how hard is it to restart a business that was established millennia ago? WILLOW (you’re crazy) Yeah, I hear he’s slacking ANDREW How come you’re not at the hospital? Andrew jumps down and goes to sit with Willow who’s pulling out piles of books WILLOW I didn’t want to crowd – apparently there’s some issues with Buffy’s Father – she was crying and so kind of muffled ANDREW Dawn said her Dad got ate by Coyote’s WILLOW It was wishful thinking ANDREW Oh, is he like – a bad guy? (beat) C…Come in, sit down Buffy wonders in, in a trance like state as she sits on the edge of the chair HANK What brings you to this neck of the woods? BUFFY We need to talk HANK Buffy what’s wrong? A Father doesn’t disappear to the far side of the world and not even call when his ex-wife dies, a father doesn’t miss his daughters graduation or let her drop out of college to take care of her kid sister and a Father doesn’t just show up in town and act all casual about having no contact since his twenty two year old daughter was eighteen. INT – BUFFYS (WILLOWS, JOYCES) ROOM – NIGHT The curtains are blowing as we pan down to see Tara laying on the floor in a pale blue shirt with a blood stain on the chest, she scuffles around slightly and looks up, scared and lost. I like the subtlty in the purple top. Dawn should know Tara's clothes won't fit her and probably never wore it. It was just a memento, wasn't it? You surely make Hank a bad guy again, at least from our perspective. He was pretty quick to condemn Buffy even after seeing her beat the demons. Poor Dawn. Living in the same household with RJ will put more crimp in their relationship than his being a nominal step-brother. I like this series. The real-life part with Hank is an interesting look into a personal possibility for the Summers girls.

I have to admit at first I though Oh shoot, what’s happeneing at the summer’s house but I’m glad to see it wasn’t an attack. I’m guessing no one else was home. Wow the start of act 3 is one heck of a touching scene. I think this may become my favourite scene for awhile. Andrew is so easily swayed..That’s a good thing. Grr I’ve got another fav scene already the Hank find his daughter slaying one. It’s one of those scene I can se in my head very clearly but would love to see it on tv. So suddenly Hank wants to be a father again but only to dawn. This is going to spell trouble. Whoo what an ending!!!!. I don’t understand how come Willow didn’t know it was Tara’s shirt though…or was Tara’s hair in the comb? While I’m here a personal opinion whispers Spike should’ve let Buffy fall on her face, in a gentle way of course ;) run Spike Run! I’m not sure if you forgot to spell-check as there’s a few missing words and his’ instead of her’s in there.
