Dawn is laying asleep in bed as Spike sneaks into her room and pulls a chair up at her bedside.

No there’s just silence in the space – gotta wake up kid, can’t just have the four of us left here in Sunny D.
Spike throws his head back as if he’s physically trying to keep tears away
SPIKE
Come on little bit, this isn’t you – you’re the tough one, sure you punch like a pixie but you’re still strong. Wake up.
Spike let’s go of her hand as Xander walks in behind him
XANDER

Sorry I…I didn’t think anyone would…is she still here?
XANDER
She’s had some things to take care of

Right. Guess I’ll be takin’ over patrol tonight with Vi being back in Vancouver for the holidays

Spike looks at Dawn one last time and nods as if he’s understanding something, he walks out past Xander – who doesn’t move or blink, he just stares at Dawn.

ANDREW
Willow it’s kind of closing time – two hours ago so, um are you done yet?
WILLOW
No, it’s okay I’ll lock up

ANDREW

Buffy hears a rumbling from the bushes – she walks over to reveal a small group of four demons around a fire

Buffy pulls a small sword out of her socks

The demons charge out at her – or at least three of them do, Buffy is thrown to the ground and looks up to see Spike snapping the neck of another of the demons

Buffy flips over one of the demons and kicks it in the back, knocking it to the ground

Buffy punches the third demon as the first attacks Spike again

Buffy stabs the demon in the neck and twists the dagger

Spike snaps the neck of the final demon

Spike nods behind Buffy – she turns to Hank stood looking ready to have a heart attack

Spike casually walks off as Buffy watches – torn between talking to her father or following Spike.

Hank grabs the steering wheel and pulls the car over

Buffy is shocked at her own words

Hank slams the door and leaves Buffy in shock as it begins to rain

Andrew is shielding his eyes as light surrounds Willow like an aura
WILLOW

EXT – SPIKES HOME – NIGHT
Buffy pulls up outside his house and stares at the window. After a moment she takes a deep breath and walks up to the door

INT – HOSPITAL – NIGHT
Xander is leaning over Dawn’s bed, holding her hand as the door flings open
CUT TO.
EXT – SPIKES HOUSE – NIGHT
Spike opens the door to see Buffy standing their
CUT TO.
INT – SUMMERS HOME – MAY 1998
JOYCE
If you walk out of that door don’t even think about coming back
Buffy stares hard and walks away leaving the door open, She continues down the path way as Dawn calls out of her window
DAWN

BUFFY

EXT – SPIKES HOUSE – NIGHT
Spike and Buffy just stare at each other until the ground begins to shake – she is thrown into his arms

INT – HOSPITAL – NIGHT
A white light floods into Dawn as the bed and everything else shakes, her eyes spring open
CUT TO.
INT – MAGIC SHOP – NIGHT
The last of the aura leaves Willow and continues out via the door as the book fall off the shelves slowly calming down.

Dawn is helping Buffy clear things from Willow’s room into Buffy’s room

What should I do with Tara’s stuff?

I guess…charity, Giles says Willow’s taken some stuff with her and to get rid of the rest before she’s back

Dawn gives a sad smile as she pulls out a strange purple top.

INT – BUFFYS (WILLOWS, JOYCES) ROOM – NIGHT
The curtains are blowing as we pan down to see Tara laying on the floor in a pale blue shirt with a blood stain on the chest, she scuffles around slightly and looks up, scared and lost.
