Subject: the enchanter, p 3

a theory i have is that in quixote's perception of the chivalric world, no knight was ever lied to. in all his readings, this never occurred. everything had an explanation that necessitated the honesty of all parties. thus, quixote can never admit the possibility that he is being lied to. the enchanter device allows him to do this effectively. as we progress through the narrative, the enchanter is continuously expanded. first, he affected only those things outside quixote, such as the windmills. then, he changed quixote's vision in the instance with the peasant-dulcinea. now, the enchanter has assumed quixote's form to deceive the knight of the forest. what till quixote have to explain away with the enchanter next?
