I might be misinterpreting you here Joel, but it seems to me that when you say that "foul deeds" equal the ghost and, therefore, seem to indicate something about his father, you are implying his father had defects or problems that cannot lie hidden in the grave. I don't think that these foul deeds refer to the ghost or to Hamlet's father. It seems to me that they are referring rather to the foul deeds surrounding the death of King Hamlet, namely murder. If this is the case, the ghost would not represent the foul deeds themselves, but merely the fact that something is not right in the circumstances of death, which would in turn eventually lead to the revelation of the foul deeds.
