El padre Gabriel Amorth aconseja no tocar bajo ningún concepto, sin utilizar sacramentales y sin rezar, los objetos que se sospecha o se sabe se han utilizado para realizar maleficios y si es posible quemarlos para lograr su total destrucción.

"Todos estos objetos deben ser rociados con agua bendita (la misma persona puede ocuparse de ello) y quemados al aire libre; las cenizas, así como los objetos de hierro o, en todo caso, no combustibles, deben ser arrojados donde corra agua (río, alcantarilla).
Es importante que la destrucción por el fuego de los objetos hechizados se haga rezando."
