Hi,

I am new to this site. In Sep 03, I puchased a holiday clud membership from Universal Preivilege. After purchasing I regreted.I wanted to withdraw on the following Monday, but the clause in the agreement and the company say I cannot. There is no cooling off period. I also enquire about termination if I am no longer interested in the membership, but it is also not allowed. It is even stated in the Agreement that if any legal action is to be taken by them against me it will be at my cost. What is worst is that the membership is for 80 yrs, which means even if I am no longer interested, I still have to pay the yearly maintenance and hold on to the membership for 80yrs. Although the company says that I can sell the membership, I have no idea if there is a market for it. I definitely will not want to pay for it for 80yrs and not use the facilities. I have paid more than 50%($4000) and need to pay another $3500 in instalment. Can someone advice me what I can do to terminate? Are such unfair terms and conditions allowed. Is there anyone out there who has purchased from Universal Privilege and is facing the same problem? I need advice desparately as I do not want to hold on to the membership any longer.Thanks.

Hi Cynthia,
Stop paying and make a police report that you have been cheated based on the unfair conditions put on you.
As your case is very recent you have all the means to get a full refund and an apology for misrepresentation. Keep a lookout on this site as we are helping others to seek recourse.
