] Date Posted: Thu, Nov 13 2003, 16:44:48 Just spoke to Maestro Staff regarding re-selling of timeshare Plan. My maintenance fee is up for payment and the staff told me should I not pay up, the Vacation Club I sign up with will terminate my membership. That means I will loose everything. Will not be able to do any further booking as won't be regarded as a memeber. THis is something new to me, I don't intent to pay up for my fees and was wondering what will happen to me. Actually, I am even prepared to give up my lost and just want to get on with life, but don't want to pay anymore fee. So I guess this might be good news for me. Of course, I will loose 8k which I pay for MTC w/o using at all. Its useless to me and far to expensive for me to travel up to Thailand to enjoy my 7 days where I can easily get a cheaper package from our local travel agent. Worse of all, its blue season = Off peak. any upgrading needs to pay. Maestro Business Consultants Pte Ltd - wrote me a follow up mail regarding selling off my plan. However, the fees to sign up has just increase from $500 - $700, which I find a little too steep. Besides, there will also be depreciation as years go by. The manager also mentioned that there is no upgrading involve as it is basically just reselling your plan. SO if you find someone telling you to upgrade.. maybe you should think thrice. Wonder has anyone sign up. I had also written in to my club trustee asking for information to resell my plan, which they claim (on their website) they will direct me to some reseller. On the other hand I can also surrender (no more owner, stop paying fees, etc..) or transfer my plan to someone else. Maybe, those of you who are stuck and had already fully paid for your plan, you can try searching for information like what I did. There might be a better way out? Date Posted: Thu, Nov 13 2003, 16:58:45 Just got a reply from my trustee, they told me if I don't pay up for my maintenance fee, I will loose my membership, which means, they will re-possess the 1 week which is mine. Now that this surface up, just wonder why our Gov not willing to take on such cheap and put them put out of business. There are lots of timeshare company out there selling, but there aren't anything like what we encountered. You can simply go to the website and buy what you want, range of prices stated, etc... just pay some fees and get it down. Wonder they need agent in Singapore. One broker told me this timeshare thing is actually very cheap, but then this agent actually charges us much more to pay their staff. I was told by Berjaya staff that even Malaysia has something better than ours some 2 yrs ago, justto protect the consumers.. wonder how true. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

They will stress to you that you can rent it out if you do not go for holiday that year and they can do the renting for you. They also stress that you can sell it off in future and the price would go up (investment), and they can sell for you. But after you signed up, everything turn out to be untrue and when you want to claim the sales person states that, they will tell you that the sales person had left the company. Actually, if you observe carefully, they always employed part-time / freelance sales person to sell their timeshare batch by batch every fix period of time (weekly/fortnightly/monthly). In that way, you would not be able to trace back which sales person said (promised) something to you by the time you discover something wrong. And they had no liability to you but you had the liablity to the company. Very tricky and cunning strategy!! [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
