Hi all,

very relieved to find this website. Any one bought the ERI timeshare ?

My husband and I bought was pressured into buying one after 4 hours of presentation, and we have paid about S$15K, exluding maintenance costs. At that time, there was no cooling period of 3 days.

Anyway, we regretted after we went on a holiday in australia, and stayed in the resort that was owned by HCAP, the holiday group that ERI represents. We were so disappointed with the resort, the pool is a small wading pool, the resort is old and rickety and the there are not much facilities around there. The bed and the sofa has a musky and dusty smell, and the door does not look secure.

Then earlier this year, when my husband sends in the cheque for maintenance, ERI botched the payment, and now claims that we are at fault for not paying, and advise us to pay with credit card...what ??? they charge us in aussie dollar and the exchange rate of banks are so high !!!

So now, we decided to terminate, but as usual we can't. any ERI timeshare buyers care to share some info ???

Hi,

I also a timehare HCAP victim. SInce you have already paid full, you can simply dont send in amy maintenance fee and they would send you warning letter and request you to pay. Unless you want to go bac to timeshare then you will need to pay AS$2000 + all maintenance fee that you own them. IF not, simply dont care.

Is the resort that bad? I have enjoy any of them yet. I left with 1400 to pay and now wondering should i pay all and then simply dont pay the maintenance fee.

Hi

has anyone tried terminating their ERI contract? Both my husband and I signed up last June 03, and are deciding to terminate. Anyone has any experience to share or ideas?

Hi,
i am an ERI timeshare owner, been paying since july 2002, not completed yet and have not enjoyed anything.

recently d co called to say they are upgrading etc and to cut a long story short.. i decided to terminate and i went to CASE for help... maybe if you still want to terminate... we can help each other out by joining forces, gathering any negative evidence and fight against them..

don't know if i'm a victim myself. i attended one such 'presentation' yesterday at ERI, Dephi Orchard and ended up signing for a 3 year 'trial' contract. it's a one time payment of $1500.

Upon reaching home, i felt a bit uneasy about the whole thing, and searched the net for timeshare stuff. turns out that lots of people have already been cheated. silly me. the only consolation is that i was relatively lucky, having only lost $1500 as opposed to those losing $20k.

could anyone elaborate on how timeshare works? how they cheat people etc? I'm at a loss, not sure what to do now. i think i'll seek advice from CASE tomorrow. it will be great if i can receive a prompt reply to this, so that i can have an idea how to go about cancelling the contract, if that is at all possible.
stuff about the 3 day cool off period etc.

thanks for your time!
