] Date Posted: Wed, Nov 10 2004, 8:58:45 On the 5 and 6 Nov 2004, I received a couple of missed calls in my mobile reflected of this no. 62356520. This number rang me up on 8 Nov 2004 and I finally received it. This man, whose name he gave was Thomas told me I won a consolation prize in a shopping mall though I wondered since when did I engage myself in some shopping centre lucky draws & how he has got my mobile number. He told me I won myself a free 7/8D accommodation in Bangkok and Italian watch worth over hundred over dollars. He claimed that he works for Emperor Holdings Pte Ltd and his company is an agent to give out the prizes for the cruise company name Disney & Princess Cruise. He fixed a date for me to come down with my husband (he claimed it's a must to come down as a couple) to collect the gift and requested us to stay for an hour to listen with "no obligations" to the package that the cruise company has. On the 8 Nov at night, I decided not to go down to the company after I discussed the incident with my husband and that I knew and heard a lot of such gimmicks, which are fraud. Me, who have once been a victim like many others especially couples who had wasted the time by attending to them therefore decided to ignore them. On the 9 Nov 2004, 5pm, a woman from the company called my mobile again to confirm my attendance. I told them politely that I am not coming giving the excuse that we have "work commitments", She then handed the phone over to the Thomas guy again. The man turned nasty after I told him that I couldn’t come down and would be giving up the gifts. He began to tell me off by saying: - The appointment is fixed, the effort has been done for having the gifts processed with my name on it "so that others couldn't collect it." - His management will think badly of him why his client decided not to come down. - Tell me off that I don have the "courtesy" to inform him in the first place when I decided not to come (Just where is customer's right if their company is not a company that is committing fraud. They operate like country club, sign up their membership and you will be entitled to stay in their luxurious accommodation in many countries, does this accommodation even exist.) - And he doesn’t deny that he is angry that I decided not to come down and demand me for the real reason. I was almost at the point of telling him that your company is suspected of fraud since there are so many evidence of true cases and so why should I come down. He began to call me several times consecutively non-stop on my mobile with this number 67327931 immediately after I hung up. The office was at Delfi Orchard (somewhere beside orchard towers) at level 6. They also have another number 68362060. After this incident, I have a few phone calls reflected as “ID withheld” which indicates no number, the caller would remain silent when call is made. My current StarHub mobile number is new for about 3 months, throughout this 3 months I do not received prank calls with this new number. I urged that this true incident be make known to everyone in Singapore is aware of such companies that is suspected of committing fraud because if they are genuine company, they would not be so rude, not customer oriented, mysterious about their products and only reviewed to you personally when you go up to their office. The part-time teenagers are only paid to get people to come to the office and only their own company personnel will attend to those innocent people who went up. Why are they not like other travel agencies in general who has nothing to hide and just purely provide holiday travel services. These companies should be seriously dealt with so that there won't be anymore couple victims if this company is truly guilty of committing fraud. Date Posted: Tue, Jan 18 2005, 21:30:08 Hi Lene, thats the Emperor Resorts International Pte Ltd that i was conned by in July 2002. Recently, i went again coz they are doing some upgrading and company expansion and they changed their name to Club Emperor and combing their efforts with Disney Cruise aka ICE.. bad news on my part and now trying to terminate.. :-( cfw.. good for you.. :-) [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
