Thanks you Scott for your reply to "i've just been conned!".
I've tried calling up CASE asking for Mr Pillay as you have mentioned. Couldn't get to talk to him though. No return calls from him too. So i might be going down in person tomorrow.

Anyway, i had been looking up the acts and regulations on the internet the last few days. Seems like the fair trading act has been passed but will only be enforced on 1 March 04.
Does this mean that the requirement for cooling off period to be included in the contract will not be effective before this date?

Gosh, worried sick. Is there any way to void the contract besides engaging a lawyer?Anyway, anyone noes the rates for legal fees pertaining to this?

As your agreement(contract) is very recent, you can seek recourse even when there is no cooling off period stated.
As you feel that you've been "conned" then there is a case that you have signed the agreement(contract)under duress and as such there is 'no contract',inspite of all the disclaimers you might have signed.
So you can apply for this agreement(contract) to be void with full refund.
Please get a legal representative to write a demand letter to void the contract. CASE will not do that as they are not Lawyers. They can only mediate, in other words, drink kopi and talk.
Cheers

hi Jaime,

I had the same promise from them too about 10-day cooling off... its still within the period, and I am going to the post office to send them a AR registered mail on cancellation. I think legally the cancellation is possible for us who signed up recently.

I am also sick to the stomach after reading the postings on the website. We cannot just be sitting ducks ..
