] Date Posted: Sat, Feb 28 2004, 2:43:37 For all vicims of IRN and other scams, My fiance and me are also victims of the whole time share scam. We signed up for the package with MTC somewhere 2001. Paid so far $3000 and stopped since 2002. We went down to Faber House today 27/02/04 after we receive a call from their customer care division ( Evan ) saying our contract have been terminated and to arrange for a refund however we have to meet up with their manager. Been there today 27/02/04 and was attended by a manager (Flora) there. Said we have an outstanding amount of $8000 and asked when are we going to settle this? We told her we are here for the refund and we have no intention to continue the package. She then said there is no refund and the contract is never terminated. Said MTC was going to send us a legal letter however was stopped by them (ATC). Hence now asking us how we want to make the remaining payment. We insist on a refund and their director was asked to come in. The director, (Austin) said if we insist not to pay we will be sent a legal letter by MTC and will be sued in court. Said he can act on behalf of us as a coporate company to cancel the contract with MTC and bring our paid amount of $3000 over to ATC however we were asked to signed a new package which is valued at $22K. However we only need to pay an additional $6K to make it up to $9K with our existing $3K. Then we were asked to make a payment of $1K today and the remainding by installment. Fortunately, we do not have such an amount and told them our credit cards are all to the max. Hence paid an amount of $100 only. However was asked to pay the remainding $900 by next month 25/03/04. We then signed an application form with no Terms and Condition stated behind. We were told once we paid the $900 next month, we will be asked to signed a new contract and given all the necessary documents. Which includes a letter stating that our existing contract with MTC will be nulled. Fortunately i still have doubts on ATC and did a check in on the website and searched for IRN and found the website on IRN complains. However i'm still keen in taking back my $$. These are all our hard-earn money. Why should we be con like that? And why isn't the Goverment or the Police doing anything about it? How can such scams happen in Singapore one after another? I really hope to see justice on this issue and its really getting out of hands. More innocent people will be cheated of their hard earn money if nothing is done. If the goverment is not doing anything to help the citizens, we will have no choice but to take matters on our own. I suggest all victims meet up and proceed to CASE or to the police and even to the media to allow other fellow citizens to be aware of this scam and to stop this once and for all. WE SHOULD BE GIVEN BACK OUR HARD EARN MONEY IN FULL..... I would really like to see all victims joining hands and do something about this scam. Do we really have to put up a strike to get the attention of the Goverment before they do something about it? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I signed up a MTC package and fully paid since. IRN called me down as they said the maintenance fees will be revised and need to discuss personally. They calculate the amount of maint. fees with estimate increase every year and said I have to paid that amount for 30yrs as stated in the contract else MTC will sue me. I told them I plan to resell my MTC, and they claim no one will buy and I even have to pay to sell away my contract else I will be sued for not paying the maint fees. They then propose the alternative ATC package for about $22k. I refuse as I doubt their claims and the director was called in. They pretent to note down the conversation and ask me to sign on the paper that I agree to the original contract to pay the fees for 30yrs else MTC will sue me.
