] Date Posted: Tue, Nov 11 2003, 0:31:50 In reply to: ccn666 's message, "LGM Timeshare scam" on Mon, Nov 10 2003, 3:06:30 Hi everybody, I am also at the same situation with you ccn666.Everything is the same scenario and i am stuck/trapped in the cvc plan.I had paid ttl of $19000.00 and recently, they called me and told that I have won a one week holiday stay at designated countries/places.But to redeemed the free gifts, I and my wife had to come down personally to their office at LGM Takashimaya.I knew there's a "catch" to it, so I just proceed and met them.As expected they tried to talk over me to upgrade my programme into cashback programmes, after three years all my money will be refunded in full and am still a member for life.I flatly refused the offer when I have to topup money($16000.00 more) to qualify in the cashback programme. They tried again to convince me, but I stay firm, and left the premises without first collecting the free voucher with much insistence. A week later, this gal named 'mani'called over my residence phone and remind me that I'm yet to sent them the signed form to the cashback programme. Furiously I replied that I already turned down the offer, and I mentioned that I've already met the other guy named Abdul Rashid nicknamed 'Ram'.A day after that, this guy 'Ram' called my mobile phone and the words use as if I already agreed to join the cashback programme, but actually 'NOT'.I'd bluntly reply to him about our last meeting wheather he understood me and is there any problem for that. The rest was blah!blah!blah!,angry because I felt irritated for the call. The next day I received another call from 'Ram', he is not happy by the way I talked to him the day before. He gave me the impression that if I donot join the programme,I have to pay more because Euros will go up,and whats the point of paying every year for that.I replied that I'm with my present contract I do not have to pay any yearly fees and I stood firm with it.Then he said that the company have the right to change the contract as requires, and reminded me to read the contract carefully(concept vacation). We end the conversation,by promising to return his call after I take a look at my present contract.I found nothing which says otherwise, and it says that if I renew the membership I have to pay in US$ and not Euros. It's clear they do not do their homework, and by using scare tactics. I did not return the call and I ignored subsequent calls from them.It seems they are desperate now and I hope no other people will fall into their trap. So all guys/gals out there, lets unite and if possible spread this message to all you know. And also if we together can void the contract and get a refund of our money through legal means, I'm much appreciated. rgds [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: Tue, Nov 11 2003, 3:17:12 Hi Harris, I feel so sorry and sad to hear about your experience and I can definitely relate to how you feel about it. I do hope that we can all meet up and discuss about taking legal action against LGM as soon as possible. I must thank all of you for sharing your experience for the benefit of all. Have faith, we shall prevail, my friends! ------ Best regards, Choo Chun Nam [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Sat, Nov 15 2003, 22:07:06 My husband and I bought the Calypso Timeshare for $24,000 in 2000. We tried the Timeshare last year. To our great disappointment, we did not get to enjoy 30% discounts on airfares, themeparks and so on. We realised that we had been cheated, but we did not want to give up $24,000 for nothing. Thinking that we could not do much about things that are not written down black and white in the contract, we resigned ourselves to this foolish mistake we made. Then we upgraded our timeshare to CVC to cut down on our losses, based on the salesperson's calculations. This cost $9,500. In all, we have paid about $33,000. (sigh) We are considering engaging Mr Ismail, the legal associate featured in Timeshare Victims Hit Back (ST 9 Nov 2003) to deal with our case. Perhaps LGM victims with experiences similar to ours can pool our resources together to fight a legal battle and get our hard-earned money back. Su-Fern [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Mon, Nov 17 2003, 3:08:08 Hi Fern Sad to hear your loss. I too was pestered by them to upgrade. The upgrade to CVC sounded good since they say i dont have to worry about the maintenance fees but after reading our members problems to the CVC, I did not give in to them. please let me, us know of your outcome with Mr Ismail, as to whether we have any solid reason to get our money back. Mebbe if ALL of us join hands, we can win this battle. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
